The Stress Relief pet quests give you: 5 exp., 1 Heal Potion & 1 Pet Plus Potion. When all else fails I stockpile scrounger items or build up my staff. Without even trying, you find yourself leveling up.
When given a choice, I always opt for the longest word to maximize exp. pts. My choices for essential oils were Mentha Arvensis and Sandalwood.
Not sure if this was in reply to me or not, but I've done that quest. I only have the 1 expired left that gives a potion.Don't get me wrong -- I still have tons of quests to do, since I only started in March.Reva wrote: "The Stress Relief pet quests give you: 5 exp., 1 Heal Potion & 1 Pet Plus Potion.

Sorry for the lack of dragon attacks from me lately! Had to send off the majority of my stuff to Florida while packing up the rest to last me for the next ~3 weeks until I get down there. This weekend is a busy one for my family because mom is in charge of https://officialbridgeday.com/ and everything is crazy right now (as you might imagine). Plus my nieces are crawling machines now! They only know one speed and it's FAST.
I haven't even been slotting any of the books I've been reading -- just putting them in my tote. But things should wind down after that and I have a couple big attacks planned for back to back hits to that ding dang dragon. ;)
Question: For "Read a book where someone is in training for something"Would learning how to drive count?
RebeccaS wrote: "Question: For "Read a book where someone is in training for something"Would learning how to drive count?"
Sure :)
Newbie question- is a 'round' in a fight the hero's turn followed by the monster's turn? So the end of a round is always after the monster's turn? Or is it after either turn?
Bethany wrote: "Newbie question- is a 'round' in a fight the hero's turn followed by the monster's turn? So the end of a round is always after the monster's turn? Or is it after either turn?"Round is hero attack + monster attacks back. So end is after monster attack.

Hi Jenny! You'll want to look at the Quest thread for the pet rock quest.
Then you look at the monster thread to find the Rocks.
Jenny wrote: "Thanks! Can I read graphic novels as part of the RPG?"
Yes, as long as they meet the page requirement. There's a few quests that let you dip below the page requirements.

I am also trying to join, but do not see where to go to create a topic thread for myself. I have gone to the link you provided, but, perhaps I am being dense or short-sighted, but I do not see where you create that folder. I have been enjoying the start of the RPG on the Wobble Challenge and a team mate said that I would probably enjoying doing this as an individual player. HELP!
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...The RPG folder. There's a new topic link in the upper left. That lets you make a new thread. Make sure it's set to the RPG folder.

Cheryl, check out my topic feed - I think I'm doing it right - there doesn't appear to be a spreadsheet to submit and attack - you do it through postings...

Yep. You track it all yourself. But there are some really fun quests, and you get to attack monsters for rewards! Also there are some group components at times, like when the leprechauns took over -- and the plague cures were a group effort.
Karrie wrote: "Jenny wrote: "Cheryl wrote: "Teresa wrote: "Jenny, Check out this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...and create a topic thread for yourself in the fold..."
And the Great White Dragon attacks of course. ;-)
Welcome to the game, Jenny.

Yeah! I haven't checked those out much but this game is awesome!
if we moved Whittington to the Authors Initials can be found in ALKA (Alan Armstrong) we would have quest card 2 complete. Do we want to do that?
Karrie wrote: "if we moved Whittington to the Authors Initials can be found in ALKA (Alan Armstrong) we would have quest card 2 complete. Do we want to do that?"This is NRPG. Was this meant for WOBBLE?
Just wanted to make sure (just beginning to look at catching up on things while I have a week or two to relax before the second half of the move):On the newest scrounger list is "spiritous" would the regular spelling "spirituous" count as interchangeable? (Both are correct, the first is just an alternate spelling.)
I'm looking to go up against the Correction Fluid on Sunday (just finishing a couple things first, like leveling my Staff), but I'm a little low on potion tokens. CF gives 10 tokens as a prize though! So... Would any quester (or questers) be willing to loan me 4 tokens until Sunday? :D
ETA: Or, lend me 3 shield potions and 1 of the following: growing strength potion, damage potion, OR enhanced weapon potion? I will pay you back with a potion token on Sunday.
Awesomesauce!! Thanks so much! I have my battle all planned out, typed up and ready to go. Just a few more days and a couple more Staff books. :) Yay!RebeccaS wrote: "I'll lend you 4 tokens! *hands them over*

Hi guys !I am really new to the RPG game and I would like to have advice on how to start :)
I am at 3xp and then I level up at 5xp... Should I attack a monster that reduce my health to 0 and then it is restored as I level up ? And which monster would I choose ?
**I am level 1 for both weapons**

Close, but reduce your health to 1 at the lowest... I'm pretty sure you're dead if you hit 0.
The sewer rat is probably the only one you can kill currently without dying.

Thank you Bethany !!!
And at what point should I start the horse quest ?? Is it important in the beginning to have one ??

I still don't have one. At the very beginning I started by leveling up my weapon and doing quests that got a bunch of Exp so I could increase my health. It seems like most of the things to increase your attack power become more worth it once you start having to read more books to level up your weapon than for the other weapon bonuses.
So, right now, it would take 2 books to increase your weapon level by 1 through leveling up your weapon, but it would take 12 books to increase your attack by 1 by getting a horse! So I would say hold off on the horse for now, but keep an eye out for books that happen to fulfill the harder tasks and just keep them in the reserve for later.
I would also suggest getting bauble before horse. It has far more power - increases attack in each turn. Since it works only on one weapon, you'd either pick on what weapon you'd like to use it, or go for 2 baubles. Also bunny would probably be good choice - it gives you 3hp each week.
That all should come after Bethany's suggestion :)
btw, welcome! *orders ale*
Welcome Caroline! I would recommend leveling up your staff and leaving your sword where it is. There is really no benefit to having both weapons leveled up and the staff is much easier once you get into the higher levels. With the number of tasks open, you can always find somewhere to put a book that isn't in a series.
I think 0 just means you're knocked out and have to wait to attack anything else -- like with the dragon. Unless that's a special dragon thing -- if so, ignore me. lol.Welcome btw!
Morgan wrote: "I think 0 just means you're knocked out and have to wait to attack anything else -- like with the dragon. Unless that's a special dragon thing -- if so, ignore me. lol.Welcome btw!"
That's special eisdragon thing. :)
Right, you can't attack a monster if your health is at zero, which means the monster wins, which means you shouldn't have attacked it or you configured your attack wrong and should rework it. (barring Eisdrake, of course)
Waaaaiittt... The Monsters post says: "You cannot attack monster if your health is at 0.
Your health does not go below 0. (Example: Hero Health 1, Monster attacks for 5, Hero Health is 0)."
But doesn't say either way if one can fall to zero hp, then heal, then keep fighting the monster. Or, I don't remember where it says that.
It would kind of break the game though.
Example:
Hero 1 hp
Runner 100 atk
....
Runner atks for 100 atk: Hero hp =0
Hero drinks Minor Heal Potion, hp = 5, atks.
Runner atks for 100: Hero hp = 0
Hero drinks Minor Heal Potion, hp = 5, atks.
Repeat ad infinitum.
O.o
But once you fall to 0, you can't attack anything for 3 days, so you wouldn't be able to complete the attack. (even if we could do this, which we can't) Kelly answered this waaaaaaay back toward the beginning of the challenge. Unfortunately, there is too much to dig through in the tavern to find her post again.
The not attacking for three days is only eisdrake. If you hit 0 with an exact count you can heal. If you go below you die.
I didn't think you could hit zero and heal- I always assumed you needed to stay at at least 1 hp for the battle to keep going. I think Kelly's just going to need to clarify all this again :/ (Regular battles- not eisdrake)
Yeah, I've never gone to zero in either case, but I just assumed (and we know what that does) that it just knocked you out and the fight would fail so basically "don't do it"? Clearly I was wrong lol though it did make me be overly cautious in fights and planning. XD
There's a quote in my post that says you can't go below zero. ^^ Post 7647. :)Teresa wrote: "The not attacking for three days is only eisdrake. If you hit 0 with an exact count you can heal. If you go below you die."
Seems like it's as you say. That's how I've been playing anyway, but I don't see it explained in the Welcome thread or the Monsters thread so... :/Alyssa wrote: "I didn't think you could hit zero and heal- I always assumed you needed to stay at at least 1 hp for the battle to keep going.
