Anything you'd define as steamy is fine.

Thanks, Kelly. ;-)

I had two previous questions still to be answered.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments I'm looking for recommendations. Hard to pinpoint these dates.

Books set in:

• Present (within 3 years each direction)

• Recent Past (4-10 years ago)

message 6107: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane I mean you can go off the technology to know where it falls date wise- any book that mentions any kind of social media or smartphones or anything relatively current I'd assume as present and anything from the 90s, like beepers or use of home phones with answering machines etc I'd put int the second category of 4-10 years ago. That way even if it never states a date I can usually figure out about when it was supposed to take place.

message 6108: by Alex (new)

Alex | 1018 comments Can you use publication dates too? Generally if something doesn't mention a specific date but has a contemporary setting, it's set when it's written.

Yes, you did, i was just commenting on the fact that Catherine was implying the bauble should affect the hydra's attack and I don't believe it does.

Great idea! I used the new airplanes the MC keeps buying to date the books.

Thanks ;-)

Now I need to find a book set from year 0 to 1000.

Preferably one I haven't read before and less than 400 pages.

Open to suggestions.

Yup, it's about time to kill all the gem monsters.

Right now, the only one I can think about in English is The Last Kingdom, by Bernard Cornwell.

If you read in Spanish, there's Astur, by Isabel San Sebastián.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments I absolutely love my KITCHEN-TWO. So far I've collected:

1. 1 Minor Heal Potion April 3, 2016
2. 1 Heal Potion April 10, 2016
3. 1 Greater Heal Potion April 17, 2016
4. 1 Minor Heal Potion April 24, 2016. (VALUE = 21 GOLD)

Perhaps we could add a SELECTIVE SAMOVAR it would use a random generator to choose from a variety of potions, tokens, items (acorns) etc. Or at least serve a great cup of tea!

message 6127: by Alex (new)

Alex | 1018 comments Am I understanding the kitchen wrong? I thought that if you chose to collect the minor heal potion after one week, it would then reset and following another week you would only be able to collect another minor heal potion.

message 6128: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments I'm with Zee. That's what I thought reading the quest. You can either wait one week and collect a minor healing potion or two weeks for a heal potion or three weeks for a major heal potion.

message 6129: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane Yea that's how I read it too. It's only one at a time.. Otherwise it seems crazy broken no one would ever buy potions again.

message 6130: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Zuzana wrote: "I'm with Zee. That's what I thought reading the quest. You can either wait one week and collect a minor healing potion or two weeks for a heal potion or three weeks for a major heal potion."

I cleared it with Kelly so that we didn't have to wait a week but could start and collect on Sundays instead.

My understanding was we get a potion a week but it changes and resets after the third potion is collected.

message 6131: by Zuzana (last edited Apr 24, 2016 10:03AM) (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Wait one week to harvest a Minor Heal Potion, two weeks to harvest a Heal Potion and three weeks to harvest a Greater Heal Potion. Potion gathering restarts after harvesting.

I think that the important part is the last sentence. Once you harvest the potion whether it's the minor potion after one week or the heal potion after two weeks or the major heal potion after three weeks, the process restarts, i.e. one week from then you can harvest only a minor potion.

But that's my take on it. Wait for Kelly, she'll make a ruling. :)

EDIT: The harvesting day is Sunday, but that was never in dispute after Kelly's post here in the tavern.

message 6132: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments Yeah I think it's if you collect every week you get 1 minor each week.
If you collect once every two weeks = 1 heal
Once every 3 weeks = 1 major/greater

But if you collected sooner than 3 weeks it would be a lesser potion, but each Sunday would be the indicator of "week" as far as when the next week starts/previous week ends.

message 6133: by Teresa (new)

But then you might as well simply collect a minor heal potion each week. There's no net difference. Certainly no need to wait.

Can we please get a definitive answer on this? If I'm wrong I'll make the correction.

A value of even 12 GOLD per month is still pretty good.

I'm still waiting for answers for messages 6081 and 6086, please.

How about a mini trip around the world. Fly in one direction and either read books written by authors of various continents or books set in different countries. -- or a combination of the two.

For the potion tap in the kitchen if you collect it then it restarts. So it's always the equivalent of a small heal potion each week but you can wait to bump it up otherwise if you need it in different formats based on how the monster works.

I can certainly do a spring scrounger. Then I think most of the other stuff will relate to the big thing.

I also don't want to upgrade kitchen again quite yet til I see how the potion stuff plus the big event shakes out for people.

The only battle I fought that benefitted from a specific heal potion was one that needed Minor Heal Potions.

I'll correct my potion collection. Though not as good as I thought, KITCHEN-TWO is still a good deal.

There's been a lot of confusion about it. Last time this came up I went back to the yellow dragon and updated it to note that orb of air is find items eligible only quests.
