I used book 1 in the series for rabbit in title/series.

Yep and it was very funny (surprised me) and short!

It's a lot to go through and may take a little time to sort out (one of the reasons I hesitated from starting at first), but it's SO WORTH IT. And we're always here to answer and questions about absolutely anything.

If you like PNR, Kelly said dustbunnies from Jayne Castle's series count as pet rabbits, first book is After Dark. I also used this for rabbit on cover if you like romance

Honestly, smack me over the head. Why didn't I come here and ask about 6 months ago eh?

You can only use a single book for a single quest in the LRPG. However, a book you use in LRPG could also be used in some of the other challenges going on (like Leprechaun dress up). So you can't use the same book for two different LRPG quests.
So, your book could be used for the C in peace or the 5 string, or the dark cover.
And, the bowtie.
And, if there was a way to put it in the Road to St. P, you could do that too. But, you can't use it for the C in peace and the 5 string and the dark cover because those are all LRPG quests.

But you *can* use books in LRPG, Road to..., and dressing up a leprechaun. Just not RPG multiple times since L or N they're the same XP pool intending to entice new players.

and use it for both the Road to St. P and the third string. But, that's the only LRPG quest spot I can use it for.

That one looks like a good start to a splendid wish for the wishing well too. :)

If you are using the C for PEACE for your Pot of Gold, you CANNOT also use it for a scrounger item list. Those are both quests in our NRPG and you can't double up a book.

Daphne is right.
Think of it like any other challenge. You can use book for one quest in LRPG/RPG and then if you are doing other things, you can use it for st. Patrick, dress-up and whatever we have. But you can't use same book for more then one quest. It doesn't matter if you are using it in LRPG or RPG.
(All those RPGs are starting to confuse me :P)

Morgan this is right. Books can be re-used for multiple different LRPG ACTIVITES. Of the quests for the Pot of Gold, you have to use different books. Think of that as one big quest with multiple different parts to get the Pot.
But a book used towards a quest for your Pot of Gold, can then only be used there and not in any other NRPG quests.

Yes!

Absolutely! Keeping that in mind. :) I've heard it's not that great of a book, but so many people have read it, so why not? And, it'll get me the last of the harp strings, and my St. P goal.

Lots of people raved about

I had trouble finishing it.

Yeah I'm referring to the Pot of Gold chain as LRPG since it's styled like NRPG and meant as a side quest chain of sorts.
Not including the other March Leprechaun takeover types of quests where they can be re-used. ;)

Rylie, I enjoyed it! Not one that I'd want to stop strangers on the street and tell them they have to read it, but I thought it was engaging and fun to read. Although slightly disturbing, but my favorites usually are. :)

I've heard of quite a few people saying that about The Book Thief. Though I love any literature about that time, I hesitate to pick this book up. I try not to listen to reviews all that often, but when they give reasons for having trouble finishing the book as I would have for having trouble finishing a book, it sort of gives me pause.

Yup :)
Yup :)

I've read through all the starting posts (great help with yours, Reva) and have read through some quests as well, just to figure things out. I just wanted to clarify a few things.
1: I read that since starting now I can use any book I've read in 2016. Is this correct? I saw the thing about it being a raw deal for newbies, but for me and my book count, it's perfectly fine, a little too fine in fact. But hey, I read a lot. :)
2: With the books I have from 2016, I can start out with a pretty good size magic (staff?) &/or sword. Would this be the smart thing to do to just have a badass staff/sword from the start? Also, does using both a sword/staff have more attack, than just one of a higher rank?
3: If I start that way, I still have books left over. (It's a lot of books I've read so far!) I've read some of the tips y'all have given recently about where to start and what to do first. Would my remaining books be better on Experience or Gold or something else right now?
Thanks for any advice/help y'all can give. :)

I'll leave the others to the rest of the crew to chime in about :)

Oh ok. Well, never mind about all that then, since it's mostly about my books so far. I hadn't read about books just from starting out date. So sorry.

I shoulda known. It's just my luck. LOL!

I'll just throw my 2 cents in :) The great thing about this is that it is really up to you on whether you focus more on quests or weapons to go after the monsters. This is just my opinion but I think at the beginning it's good to do the quests so that you build up your experience points which in turn increases your max HP (health points) available. And you can get some great items - pet horse, pet rabbit, potions that will be useful when you do your battles, and other valuable items.
Building up your weapons is also important but I think that's something you can do in time (along with the bigger battles). And I think it was Reva (?) who said before that it's better to focus on 1 weapon over another. If you read a lot of series, then the staff. If you read a lot of big books (page-wise), then go for a larger sword. The only exception to that would be when you fight the red or green dragons since it lowers the attack power of one of the weapons.
I think most of us plan out (months ahead?) when we do the larger battles to make sure we have our weapons where we want them, have all the potions we'll need and everything else :) It's a slow-building but fun game!

Don't be discouraged. If you're a heavy reader you'll soon catch up.
When I started the game, I quickly realized that it takes time to recover from battles and that prevented me from attacking.
Gaining experience points is very important at the beginning because you level up quickly thus increasing your Health.
Each time you level up, your mamimum health resets. So plan attacks that seriously reduce your health just before you level up.
Better yet, build one weapon so that eventually you can kill common monsters with one stroke. Thus guaranteeing you free exp. points each week without reducing your health.
Eventually you'll need to build up your second weapon if you go after the bigger monsters (dragons, hydra), but it's not important at the beginning.
You need experience points at the beginning, scrounger items then gold. In time, you'll build them evenly.
Hope this helps and welcome!!
Anyone who wants to check it out. The backroom tavern is now open.

I should have just waited on the update, like I was planning on doing to get started, I just thought I'd get some questions out of the way first. Just my questions had to do with the books I thought I could use. But hey, that's why I asked! :)
I'm sure the welcome basket will get me a little of where I thought I'd be. I'll focus just on one weapon now. So no biggie! I do read a ton of series, so I know that's where I'll put my focus. I'll see what I can do to level the experience up as well, with the books going forward. Of course I'm gonna do the Leprechaun /BackRoom events. Anyone want to suggest any more fun/quick quests that are still ongoing for me to tackle soon?
Thanks for the welcome y'all! :)

I would jump right into the LRPG quests! A good amount of experience per book, and that 1 gold per week will come in super handy!

Can we use any 2016 books for the LRPG, or just March books....since it's a limited time for LRPG, I'm wondering if I should focus on those.

It depends on if you're going for Leprechaun coins. If you want the coins for the leprechaun events you have to use books only for March. If you're just doing it for Novel RPG then you can use any books.

I read bundles, so I often come across a few books that don't fit into any quests or scrounger item so I pop them into the slots for the next weapon level. Before you know it, bam! You've just leveled up without really trying.

Books mentioning pet rabbits are hard to come by so definitely save it for the Bilby Quest.
As soon as you have finished ALL your books you get the rabbit. Rabbit eggs come every Sunday and are good to the next Saturday. It's a good idea if you are battling monsters to plan your attack for Satuday, eat one egg for 3 HP healing, then get another egg = 3 HP the next day. ;-)

Yes. There will be a quest going up there. I'm trying to catch up so I was putting some of the framework in place. I'm not planning many quests for back there, but just a few. (Nothing that would unbalance the game for people who can't go back there.)

Will quests that take place in the back room, still be included in the monthly quest update on the main post, just stating that they are a back room quest? (As an easy way to keep track of them) or will it be like this LPRG which is a totally separate part of the group on a separate feed? I think having links to both of them directing you to that page would be helpful so people don't forget about them/lose track.

I just need some suggestions for books for the first two tasks. Are there any books with rabbits on the cover which aren't Watership Down? Also, a book where someone has a pet rabbit...
Any recommendations would be gratefully received. This quest has been driving me mad!
