Story takes place in a fictional time and place, reckoning to the time of Camelot. Recollection is the main female character is an ugly woman with a curse on her, she works at a tavern. She is kidnapped or used as a pawn by the "dark" forces, which may have been run by Morgana. The male hero is considered a bad guy, maybe he is a gargoyle and can fly? I believe the author penned a series on this and moved the story line to graphic novels after the first two or three. Also, I believe the author was female and these were written around 2010, give or take two years.
