hey Winter!!! I have read the book before. in the beginning, I thought I could not connect.. probably because of the way it is written, or maybe it was not my type hai of book. but gradually when the chapters kept following I fell in love with Ove.needless to say, I cried when the book ended. and as it has been mentioned in the review of the book, we are all like Ove somewhere or the other..that's exactly when I knew I connected to the book ! Happy Reading :)
Hi Winter! This would be my first time to read the book. I have read three novels of Backman this year and I love all of them!
Hey Alyana and Sunshine! let me know how did you guys find the book? In the meanwhile I would reading another book by Backman - Anxious People!
I just finished reading this a couple of books ago. At first I didn't like the main character, but he sort of grows on you. The story kind of reminds me of the movie UP. It was a sad story, but also had some funny moments. I've read 3 of Backman's books this year and I've like all of them.
Hi Surabhi! Yes I will surely post updates as I read the book. Anxious people is one of the best for me this year, it's so funny!
I read this last year and truly enjoyed it. Like Heather posted, the main character was hard to like but he definitely grew on me as the story went on...enjoy!
I read My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises from Fredrik and I loved it! I'm looking forward to read this one - I already started the book and Ove seems to be a grumpy-sarcastic-funny old man! I also have Anxious People in my to-buy list!

My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises will be on my TBR shelf :)
I read "Anxious people", which was my first book from Backman, and fall in love with it and the author's way of telling the story. It would be great to read something else from him
I haven't read this one, but I read My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry in January and loved it! I'm planning to start this one as soon as I finish my November challenges :-)

This is my first Backman book. I have heard of this book for years and have never read it. Hope it lives up to the hype.
I watched the Swedish film a few years ago (not knowing it was a book) and loved it! I’m now half way the audiobook and enjoy the story a lot.I hope the American film version will do justice to it.
Also finished Anxious people by Backman yesterday and just LOVED it. Can’t wait to read his other books.
Looks like a book, that will affect me and bring some tears to my eyes. Would be good to balance out all those detectives I've read recently :)
Got to tell something funny. I saw this was Decembers read I went to Amazon to order it. But I left it there in my cart. I done some other things and looked around at one of my book shelves and there it was. It was a used copy I had picked up somewhere for 50 cents. It had been a little wet but no biggie. The next day I went by another shelf and low and behold there was another copy. Again 50 cents but in much better condition. So I must have been destined to read it😂.

This will be my first time reading the book AND my first time participating in a group event. I am excited on both counts. This book was on my library to be read list so I went ahead and reserved a copy so that I could read with all of you.

I read A Man Called Ove a couple of years ago, for my in-person book club. This was the first book I'd read by the author, and I became connected to Ove (and the book) pretty quickly. It will fill you with so many emotions and thoughts. I plan to read it again for this month's Read!
I read this book not long ago, and it was really enjoyable. Ove is such a grumpy old guy, you can't help but love him! At times I was laughing out loud, he was such an amusing character.
