I removed the duplicate. Often books from that time period that have the identical cover and publisher may be book club editions that have a different number of pages. [I own several from that era. they don't always identify as book club] Does the edition you have show any multiple printing or editions on the copyright page?

Thanks for your comment & attention to this post.

In the mid century printings, the book club edition don't always say that they are. But often the lack of printing history indicates that it is a book club. Worldcat has 378 pages. So it's possible that edition may be the book club edition. I'm just trying to decide whether to make a different edition, rather than change this one. Can you provide a cover for the edition you have? [scanned or photo?]

Not sure of any other way to send photos to you. Please advise, if needed.

this is really helpful. Since you have the dust jacket, is there a price on the inside flap? That's the biggest indicator of book club vs retail. I'm doing a little reading about this author's publication history. Just educating myself.

Kinda clever - the corner has a dashed line (to scissor/clip) with book title, author, publisher & price ($3.00)

One book pic of Dust Jacket, one of Hardcover, and third one blank (no image) - of the same 1947 book edition?
Additionally, all editions have the wrong Page number count, too.
Should be 438 pages, not 378.
