Buddy Read for Intercepted by Alexa Martin ~ Starting 11/20/20

Thanks for setting up the thread! I can usually read a book like this in 3-4 days. Well, truthfully, I can read it in one day.🙂 But for buddy reads I like to slow down to 3 or 4. If that’s too fast, we can slow down. For 4 days, maybe 11 chapters at a time? I’ll use spoiler tags just in case that is too fast and you’d like to read slower!

I started a day early. Probably a good thing since I can get behind on weekends. I’ve read the first 11 chapters. This book is great! So much better than the romance I just finished You Deserve Each Other. If you haven’t read that one, I say skip it!

This book had me laughing from the beginning with all the humor, snark and attitude, especially Marlee’s attitude. I love Marlee’s friend Naomi and Marlee’s dad is the best. (view spoiler)[ I was pleasantly surprised that Marlee and Chris broke up so quickly. I thought this would get strung out. But now the rest of the book can be devoted to Gavin and Marlee. What do you think about Marlee and Gavin together so far? (view spoiler)[ I like them together. There is a connection there already, I think. Soooo happy the mean beauty wasn’t his girlfriend. Gavin is definitely a nicer guy then Chris. And glad Gavin figured out right away he didn’t like Chris. (hide spoiler)]

And last but not least, God! Courtney is a Witch with a capital B! LOL I can’t wait for her to get what she deserves.

I did read through chapter 22 today. Still enjoying. (view spoiler)[ Marlee’s awkward moments are funny. But I’m getting tired of people putting Marlee down, like the officer who took Marlee’s statement after her attack. And Chris and Courtney. Gavin does stand up for her so that is nice!

I am still enjoying Marlee together. The author is doing a good job developing a connection between them. I know something will be happening to upset me since I’m only halfway done. But I really liked how chapter 22 ended. Very sexy and happy. (hide spoiler)]

I’ll aim for another 11 chapters on Saturday and Sunday.

Yes, Marlee and Gavin are sweet together. I like the humor between them. I’m married and know if you you can’t laugh and have fun with each other, it will be tough going! LOL Gavin does seem sexy. I like his personality best, I think. Not sure how Marlee stayed with Chris for so long. And put up with the women in the wives club!

Well, I read through chapter 33. (view spoiler)[ I’m starting to get too stressed! LOL with Naomi’s husband getting injured, Madison talking crap to Marlee, and the guys on the train assaulting Marlee, it’s becoming too much. Marlee is standing up for herself now. It’s about time! To Courtney and Madison who deserve it! Chris and Madison deserve each other too. 😁 (hide spoiler)]

I did finish yesterday. (view spoiler)[ I liked how it ended. With Marlee finding herself without a man. But I did find it a little out of character how Gavin just assumed Marlee would go with him to NY. And she just happens to end up there a few months later. 😁 Don’t you love how romances do this for our HEA. LOL (hide spoiler)]

I gave this 3.5 stars. I’d be interested in reading the next book in the series. If you are too, we could buddy read it next month. Just let me know.

I’m glad you enjoyed it too. Should we try to start book 2 in a few weeks? Maybe December 14? That will be a week before Christmas week. It will be less busy for me. Just let me know.
