Kim shares her brother’s grave with Bryant. Your thoughts about what this may or may not be?

It shows that Kim trusts Bryant. She wants him to know something of her personal life that she doesn't share with anyone. No matter what or how they bump heads on the job, Bryant will be her friend.

The question in my mind is, “Why now?” Was it because of her meeting with Ted, her child psychiatrist? Did he unlock something? Was it Barney? I think both of these events led her to trusting Bryant with the grave.

I thought it was because Bryant felt bad for not listening to her about Alex. She wanted him to know she still trusts him and considers him her closest friend.

Ahh. I hadn’t considered that. Good point!

I'm hoping that means Kim is moving forward in reconciling the past and letting others in. There were some events in this book that makes me think that slowly this is going to happen. She has reconnected with Ted who I think could really help her and also getting the dog Barney. That episode with Alex may make her reconsider the way she has been handling her grief over the years and lead her to doing a few things a little differently including reaching out to others who are important in her life.
