When Harold Burns confronted Morgan in the grocery store, she had Sophie with her. Do you think she would have handled him differently if her child hadn’t been there? What did you make of that scene?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I guessed that Burns followed her into the store and made a scene that everyone took notice of. He could then say he was being harassed by Morgan who was following him. I believe if she hadn't had Sophie with her, she would have called the police herself.

I think she might have gotten more aggressive with him in the store. Morgan doesn’t normally back down.

This scene made me really suspicious of Burns. He was definitely trying to make her go away and my question was why?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Yes. Morgan doesn't have a problem getting in people's face and taking charge. With Sophie there, her mothering instincts took over. She want to protect her daughter first.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments This scene was really disturbing. Morgan's priority was to protect Sophie and that meant getting her out of the store as quickly as possible. I think she would have been more aggressive toward Burns of she had been alone.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I don't think the author could have written this scene without Sophie present. It would have been fuel to the fire for Burns' complaint against her. No one would imagine the mother would have been an aggressor and trailing a suspect with the child in the car.
