I'm looking for a book series I read around the age of 12, but it might be a few years older than that, so before 2012. It's a series with 12 books in it, if I remember correctly, and each book corresponded with a month, so it ran from January to December. Each book cover was black with a picture of a teenage boy with blond hair on it and every book had a specific color (like the January book had red and the June book had green, etc)
SPOILERS AHEAD
The book is about a teenage boy named Cal, short for Callum I think. His father died a year before, so his family is just him, his mom, his younger sister, and his uncle (dad's brother). Cal found something out about his uncle's potential involvement in his dad's death??? and then some type of accident/assault/fight happened at the house when the uncle saw it. So Cal ran away out of fear of his uncle. The uncle then went to the police/FBI and media and blamed Cal for that incident and said he was dangerous. He also convinced the mom and might have been romantically involved with her, but I don't remember exactly.
So Cal is on the run and is trying to figure out the details of his father's death. He is helped by his male friend, who was good at computers I think, and a girl named Winter who had a rich father and her own apartment, even though all the characters were around the age of 16. Eventually, Cal goes to Scotland (he's Scottish) and find out what happened to his dad and that MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD he has a twin brother or something. Anyway, the whole situation with his dad and uncle is sorted out and he is found innocent and the uncle guilty.
I have so many random plot points memorized from this series, but I can't find any information on it on the internet, leading me to believe it may have been a more lesser known series than I thought. I would appreciate any help. There was also some type of sequel series involving the brother, but I never read it and don't remember anything about it.
Thanks.
