Don K | 3 comments I decided to start early on my partner's valentines day gift. She is a big fan of murder mysteries and I wanted to get her a bunch of books in that genre that she will enjoy reading. it will also be a great addition to her home library :)

I'm looking for books in the genres of:
- Mystery
- Murder Mystery
- Suspense
- Thriller
- Psychological thriller
- Psychological Fiction

I live in Melbourne, Australia and already tried to get some help from Booktopia.com.au but they aren't willing to help with something like this.
I'd like to get about 50-60 books for her where each book is $35 AUD or less. If I manage to get a list, I might be able to search for them online and buy them from one place.

Thank you all in advance.

No worries, two other series that I am really enjoying are the 'Inspector Gamache' books by Louise Penny the first book is Still Life. The other series is by Jussi Adler-Olsen, Department Q, the first book has been released under two different titles The Keeper of Lost Causes or Mercy.

Carolyn | 2081 comments I would definitely add Louise Penny, Still Life is the first in the series, The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths, Silent Scream by Angela Marsons, The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza, City of Windows by Robert Pobi, What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris, a historical mystery series (all first in series)

Carolyn | 2081 comments Can you check her bookshelves/kindle to see if she has read any recent Australian crime? If not I’d recommend The Dry or The Lost Man by Jane Harper, The Night Whistler by Greg Woodland, The Chain by Adrian McKinty, Good Girl, Bad Girl by Michael Robotham (When She Was Good on your list is the sequel), A Few Right Thinking Men by Sulari Gentill as well as Garry Disher and Chris Hammer who I see you already have on the list!

With Chris Hammer, Scrublands is the first and Trust the third in the series so I’d recommend just starting with Scrublands on your list as they are big books (Silver is the second). Also if she hasn’t read any of Kerry Greenwood’s Miss Fisher books, Death in Daylesford on your list is #21 in the series so you might want to start with the first, Cocaine Blues.

If she likes cosy crime you could add Earthly Delights by Kerry Greenwood, the first in her Corinna Chapman series set in a Bakery.
