The best but also a very painful Middle Grade graphic novel I read in October is definitely Sugar Falls: A Residential School Story (which is based on true events and in my opinion should be mandatory school reading in both the USA and Canada).
Desta wrote: "Artemis Fowl"I read another Eoin Colfer book that was pretty fun (and it's only $0.99) was his new series "The Fowl Twins." The first book was great, my kiddos loved it, and I was able to pull off an Irish accent for the entire book.
Somehow this fell through the crack. I read a few books in October, but the best book I read was our Book of the Month Echo. I heard the audio book is even more ethereal.
I did not read anything new in October. Instead, I reread some of my favorites including Wait Till Helen Comes and The Doll in the Garden: A Ghost Story by Mary Downing Hahn.
I read two good middle grade books in October:a sequel - Iggy Is Better Than Ever by Annie Barrows and
the start of a new series - Rise of ZomBert by Kara La Reau

My own selections for October were definitely influenced by the season. I finished the The Witch Boy trilogy of graphic novels as part of a Halloween read-along, and I thoroughly enjoyed my return to Greenglass House in Ghosts of Greenglass House, which is the second book in the series.
