YA book about a girl with powers (possibly a witch) who is attacked at the end for her blood

I think I read this book in the 2000s, possibly early 2010s, but i think it was published earlier than this.
The main character has powers but I’m not sure she’s necessarily classed as a witch.
There’s a female character (possibly related to the main character) who attempts an overdose at one point for attention and then tries to attack the main character at the end for her blood so she can also have these powers.
I think there’s also a love interest, with green eyes who climbs a wall/up vines, possibly a rose bush to visit the main character.
