The Distant Echo by Val McDermidThe first book in the Karen Pirie series. The 6th book in this series was published this year (Still Life), time to get into this series!

We read The Dry some time ago. I remember because I was the moderator.

Thanks Tone. Much appreciated. The book was written in 2016 anyway, so wouldn't fit the category
Ehh I forgot to nominate. But it is an eclectic bunch, a couple bordering on historical fiction and a sci-fi book.
