I have not. Prior to my reversion to the faith I really wasn't all that interested, and I frankly thought a lot of the attacks on the Church (not just Pius XII) were wrong-headed. However corrupt a human institution I may have thought it to be, and however evil individual members of it might be, I also felt you could not deny the strong community it created and the phenomenal good works it has sponsored over the ages. And since my reversion, I have not been interested in reading calumnies against the Church by those who hate her.

Looking in Wikipedia under Pius XII, there is a section talking about both books (Hitler’s Pope and Dalin’s response), which outlines the main arguments of the book we are reading and the praise for it.
However, regarding the controversy of Jewish children separated from their families (from Chapter 5), Wikipedia only talks about the attacking article in the Corriere della sera and the French document, but mentions none of Dalin’s information about the existing original document which says the opposite of what the French translation claims.

I haven't read any of those books, but my son had and read Cornwell's book and gave it zero stars (!), therefore I wasn't interested in reading it.

About It is said by Mr. Michael i want to remind the reading in this club of the Henry Morton Robinson`s novel "The Cardinal" https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... i recomend his reading and watching the adaptation was directed by Otto Premminger with Tom Tryon playing to the main character Stephen Fermoyle. The Henry Morton Robinson`s novel it was about the relationship of Pius XI and the fascism and the movie touched the situation of the Catholic in Austria with Hitler one of the subplots and i would like to recomend this book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... although unfortunatelly it was not translated to English.
Michael wrote: "Brand new documentary on Pope Pius XII, with some interesting background on his predecessor, Pope Pius XI. Catholic scholars and clergy interviewed throughout. Very well done.

The title of the documentary suggests they take a pretty standard critical position. Do they? Do they go into any of the information offered by Rabbi Dalin?

Fonch, the movie included a substantial subplot regarding Nazis in Austria, none of which was in the book, at least not the version my wife and I read. The Cardinal was our BOTM in 2017. I wish the movie had been more faithful to the book.

It is a very good novel and it was my father, who recomended to me. I say to Mariangel i got it in spanish thanks to Bibliotheca Homolegens perhaps there was in Iberlibro or the second hand book a copy of the Cardinal by Henry Morton Robinson.
