Emily Price | 11 comments Uh spoilers for the book I guess. The plot is that two teenage friends (boy and girl) in New Zealand are talking and they wonder hey what if people from the future are sending messages to the past except we can't tell because we don't have a receiver? So they build a receiver and get messages from their future selves that lets them win the lottery so they become rich, and then tells them to buy a yellow submarine.

They do that and get another message that tells them to go to this lab and stop what they are doing inside. They go, and find that in this lab they've discovered this white mist that doesn't kill animals but does kill humans. They rescue the lab monkey from being used as a lab monkey because the girl is all about saving animals.

Despite them trying to stop the lab they are too late and the mist escapes. It's getting bigger uh oh. Our hero's discover that water hurts it, and the US military (because of course they gotta be there) try to stop it. They fail miserably because there is just too much mist and all die one at a time singing Glory, Glory Hallelujah.

The main characters theorize that the earth is like a giant organism and now that humans were starting to hurt it, it was sending it's "white blood cells" to kill us off.

Our main characters go in their yellow submarine with their monkey while everyone else in the world dies. They decide to try to send messages to the past in an attempt to get their past selves to stop the whole thing from happening, accidentally kicking off the events at the start of the book.

I think I read this book about three to five years ago?? But I'm not sure. I remember the plot really well, the name is just escaping me for some reason. Thanks!
