Writing in a time of CORONA.

I had to do a book launch while we were in the lockdown phase, which was a bit tricky, but it's fantasy.
I have written about a deadly disease in one of my stories, but the bulk of the story was conceived and written well before the pandemic, and because it's scifi, it's a long way in the future. I'm still working on that one. I may have a few more insights now, however.

I personally don't think you shoehorn COVID into a story though I think there is plenty of room for somebody who wants to comment on these times and there's plenty of rich material there.
I started by doing a flash fiction book that was themed with government's lack of caring for their own citizens. When I published this, I knew that I had more to say on this theme and that this disease would expose the fissures.
I guess what I'm trying to say is it should be something at the core of what you're saying and not just a novelty act. I hope that makes sense.

Other writing has not progressed much - the political background hurts my thriller plotting and sci-fi is stalling mainly because I have continued to work all through the lockdowns. One of my productive writing periods in the past has been on holidays and they have been absent. Staycations do not have same appeal as writing on a warm terrace after a morning swim.

I am on the other side of the blockage. I usually read between 50-75 full length books. This year just over 20. It is due to the Pandemic and both the job and family stresses associated. For those of you than can write during this, good luck and keep going.

I plan on having the book out sometime in November. The book is all about COVID and the times we live in. This is the follow-up to Liberte but it can be read as a stand-alone book. Where Liberte had some writing that I'm very proud of I believe this one will be even more pointed and compact. I hope you enjoy the trailer. And if you'd be so kind:
1. Please consider giving my video a thumbs up on youtube. I'd greatly appreciate it. It just makes the video more visible with Google's algorithms. I think you need to be signed in to Google to be able to do so.
2. You can also subscribe to my channel as that will certainly help too.
In a matter of weeks, I plan on posting a link to the book when it goes public.
Feel free to add your book concerning Covid
