This is an interesting book. The photos, which are good, are by Hyde, and much of the text (in rather small font) is by Jett. However, there is also the Navajo creation story (in a slightly larger font). In addition there are Navajo long lyrics, other things from the Navajo and quotes from a variety of writers including Willa Cather and Zane Grey. And by quotes, there are sections of a few of Cather's writings along with other writers, but various snippets from Zane Grey. The book has more than just descriptions of the canyon lands of the Navajo reservation which includes part of the Grand Canyon) but also some things about Navajo culture, etc. It's about both the land and the people, but it's not a nitty gritty type writing about them.

If you read this and don't read small font, be sure to have good reading glasses.
