I'm really surprised, but you only have one, Chris! I usually agree with your ratings, so I was expecting there'd be more overlap.

Haha! There were a couple of days that I missed new posts to this thread and then when I finally saw a notification for a new post it had started a secondPage without my noticing it, so I apologize for being a Clueless Book Club Member. Yes, it was 6/12. But now I’m worried they’re all going to be books I already read and/or do not own.
Um, wow, if I have 6/12 that are dark, mysterious, and/or adventure, looks like I might have some culling to do. No idea what the titles might be. :)
The adjectives are from StoryGraph. They only have a small set to choose from, that’s why they all sound somewhat similar. I wanted a neutral way to describe the tone of the books, and since I was playing around with TSG it felt like a good option. I also wanted to do personality questionnaires for each book, but I gave up after one 😄edit: That was poor Steve btw, who didn’t get a single vote 😅
I have a plan to add extra info to these characters to make the guessing easier, but I won't do that just yet. If anyone wants to get glory for guessing right with only the video links, you have a couple of days to do so.Allison only guessed one of these right, and it was with a slightly different text that gave away more. To me some of these are practically spelled out, if you've read the book or know the blurb, but I understand that they might not be as clear to everyone else :D
edit: Oh, and if anyone guesses one of these, I'll explain why I chose each music video for that book, which might help you figure out what you want to vote for in the poll.

Haha, also I was trying to make sure that anyone can't guess them! I'm not as nice as you are. That's why I changed the one you guessed :PDirect quote from my keyboard to Allison: "I will never tell! NEW CLUESHere are some new clues to help you guess what these books are. Unlike the original clues, these are meant to be guessed! They are all clues to the title of the book, and I've also added them to message #2 so you can see the old and new clues at the same time. There are a couple of video links here, too, but the videos/songs themselves are not the point, it's enough to open the links and see what they are.
Again, please use spoiler tags when guessing. Once a book has been correctly guessed, I'll let you know why I chose the original songs/videos for it, so you can get into my brain a little bit. Maybe that will help you decide what to vote for in the poll?

This is actually the only one of the 12 books that I haven't read, so the videos are based only on the blurb and what I've absorbed about the book/author over the years I've considered reading it or using it in a poll. This is the book that is almost always in the running to be in a mod poll, but always gets taken out at the last minute.The reasoning behind all the clues is in spoiler tags, for those who don't want to know anything at all about the book. But they're blurb level "spoilers", and in the case of this particular book, very superficial.

This is one of two books on this list of seven that you shouldn't read too much about if it sounds at all interesting and you want to read it! Reviews will be very spoilery, and I've even seen technically non-spoilery mentions of the book that, in my opinion, completely spoil it, and thus ruin the reading experience. Fun fact: You have this book to thank/blame for the format of this game! I kept thinking about how to represent this book in a dating app format (that was what I was planning at the time), and all I kept hearing in my head was the song. So I decided to see if I could find songs for the other books, too, and ended up with so many book/song pairings, that I had to ask for help to get the list down to five :D

Ooh, I can totally see why you'd guess that! But it's not :( This is a hard one to give clues for, because it's the other one where you shouldn't read reviews. So there's very little to go on in terms of clues to help you guess the book, the original songs were meant to give an idea of themes in the book.
