Hello everyone, I am looking for a book about a young woman and a bear man. I am sure it is not any of the books that are a retelling of the fairytale “East of the sun and west of the moon” ( So not “Ice”, or “East”). I read this book sometime around 2010-2012. What I remember of the plot is as follows:

A young girl lives in a remote cabin in the woods with her father or uncle. He sexually abuses and she has several daughters. After he dies or she kills him, she and her daughters are protected/aided by a man trapped as a bear. She must help the man lift this curse.

I remember it being a sad novel.

I remember that the cover of the book was black. And on it was the image of a woman and a Norse-style bear standing chest to chest, with the bear’s back to the reader.
