80's/90's YA Reading Challenge
Yay! I can't wait! Like you said in the previous thread, I can not believe we have been doing this since 2018 and there are still loads more R.L Stine Fear Street (let alone his point horror and Goosebumps.) But even though there are so much more of his to get through, I really like the idea of branching out. I will give you my picks as soon as I go through my shelves.

I never read much other YA horror so i can't wait to see what everyone picks.

June: The Midnight Club
Oct: Trick or Treat
Let me know if these are okay with everybody. I looked and I don't think any of these are too hard to find. *fingers crossed*
i added yours Leigha but Let's Party is not cheap. i'll probably sit that one out. the other 2 i found on e-bay for under 5$ i've read Sinclair Smith before. I have this one- Let Me Tell You How I Died
Alan wrote: "I might have a couple GB books left and I know have other YA stuff lingering around."hopefully you can join us for some.

What about The Midnight Club? Christopher Pike. It is under $5 used on Amazon or under $10 new. Sorry, I guess I assumed all R.L Stine would be easy to find, but I guess his Seniors Fear Street books are rarer. (I have a bunch from my childhood.)
I'm thinking of these three but let me know what you guys think-I'm totally fine with changing any of them:

it's very rare i see any of his books out in the wild anymore. i'll change it to the Christopher pike one.
I'm fine with those books Jen, but I might skip Slumber Party because I read it in 2019 and the plot is still fresh in my mind. The other ones I have not read and welcome any excuse to buy more cheesy teen horror! Thanks Latasha!
Yay, so excited for this already. I have quite a lot of Point Horror so if these are hard to find in the U.S. let me know and I can change them March -
July -
I have a spare copy of this one and happy to post it O.S. It was also known as
but it's the same book. I have January, April, May and October, I haven't found the other ones yet.
What you got in mind for December Tosh?

those work, i found them for 4-5$ on ebay.
December suggestion Tosh is The Best Friend by R. L. Stine. I believe it is set around the holidays.
Ohh! I didn't think of that one. I'm gonna stick with the one I picked though. its kinda witchy! ...shit I should've picked a ghost story to make the victorian's proud.
Latasha wrote: "hang on, I might change that one to a ghost story"no just ignore this ramble, i'm not going to change it. so what's up there for me is it.
I just ordered The Midnight Club this summer, after hearing it might be adapted. What month are you reading it?
Alec wrote: "I just ordered The Midnight Club this summer, after hearing it might be adapted. What month are you reading it?"Hi! This is one of my picks. It is slotted in for June. :)

Got it! So Gallows Hill for Dec? It is one I own. Yay!
This person just told me Gallow's Hill (dec) has a movie version- I've been waiting for you, 1998. i watched half of the trailer then stopped. i want to be surprised. https://youtu.be/6Oji4yG6uJ4
Don't know if I can get hold of Gallows Hill, though I loved Lois Duncan as a teen. I've saved the movie though and will watch that instead if I can't, it looks fun!
Kellie wrote: "This sounds like it could be interesting. All these books are from 80/90's and are YA?"Are you joining us for 2021 Kellie?
Got my copy of Party Line in the mail today. It looks so 80s and ridiculous and the pages are yellowed and I love it. Hahaha!
Man I wish I saved all my old R. L. Stine books. They were some of my absolute favorites growing up. I think it's time to regrow my collection though. And get a copy of Party Line as well!
Let the reading begin! Happy New Year everyone! January’s book is Party Line. The way these work is just read it sometime in the month. You don’t have to wait on anyone, just whenever you want to read- go! Please use spoiler tags. I know these books are older but Some of us (me included) has never read these. Have fun and happy reading!
I want to do this so bad as I love old school but I don’t know about finding any of these books. I do have some regular old school horror so maybe I’ll do my own private thing. Well not private. 🤨
I found a bunch of them on thrift books and some on Amazon and some bit at all. I haven’t checked eBay yet. But with my stupid budget, they are adding up to over $20 😫. I told Tosh I might just get the ones I really want to read for myself. 😕.
