The book starts out with girl on a Mountain. Recalling an incident that she almost drown. I believe her family does not like her. I do remember she has green eyes. I believe her cousin was taken by the vampire first. This vampire has wings. The vampire does comeback and takes her to his castle. The vampire has gargoyles who guard his castle.
I also remember that the vampire tells her she is too ugly to be taken as a bride. She tells him stories that were passed down to her. I think he criticizes her for the height of a dragon. He starts having nightmares at night and she hides from him. I believe a dwarf helps her escapes the castle.
