15. At the end of the story, Nick seems to be pulling away from Rachel. Is he truly leery of her because of his experience with her as her "familiar" or is something else going on?

I don't completely trust his motives and am wondering if he is distancing himself from her for his own reasons rather than because of Rachel. Personally, I am all for him going away.

I'm wondering has he gotten what he needs from her.

Good point! Now that he has what he needs from her he is trying to escape without too much fuss....hmmm...now I am more suspicious, lol.

Good point, Jonetta although I do think that his distancing himself has more to do with his being afraid of her. I have a feeling he didn't understand the true consequences until she drew from the ley lines through him while battling Piscary. It scared him.

@Kris - couldn't agree more. Thank goodness he's on his way out!

I hadn't thought of him truly being frightened of her because he seems so foolhardy in dealing with the demon. Now he's someone I don't trust at all.
