T. Rose (gptgrits) Have you encountered wildlife in corn fields before? Las week 6 turkeys exited the cornfield and my husband saw a porcupine on our property. It is autumn, time for everybody to get ready to hibernate.

Sarah Booth (boothacus) | 112 comments Wow! That must have been an incredible sight to behold! I hope one day you can take a picture but then again somethings are better just experienced.

When I was still commuting the only wild life I'd get to see was the rats in the subway and I would marvel at how their fur was the exact color of the rails, railway ties and the dark dust that colours the whole area. Perfect camouflage. You can only find them by staring at the tracks with unfocused eye and waiting for movement. It's like those old stereograms were a picture appears if you stare long enough but in NYC it's a rat. For me it is wild life and better than nothing at all.

T. Rose (gptgrits) I would freak at the rats. LOL! I had to move very slowly to get my binoculars to identify the bobcars. I think one could see my motion. It kept staring my way. I don't know... I remember when I lived in a city seeing many pigeons and a few seagulls. I keep camera handy for sure!
