I found it interesting that vampires and werewolves are altered humans, but that witches are an entirely different species and cannot have children with humans. I wonder if they are biologically compatible with other supernaturals.
That revelation threw me! I can't remember another series where witches weren't some form of human.
It also made me wonder about the treatment Rachel got for her genetic illness - could human medicine even help her?
I would think not. Thickens the plot even more. Wish I'd put that together earlier. I just reeled when she said witches weren't human.
It is an interesting concept because like you said witches are usually some form of human (in most series).
