YA, couple is fighting and girl keeps calling names at her and a boy

I do not remember much. I do not even remember when I read it. I am almost sure it was a temporary book, YA with a good ending.
One scene: Boy and girl fight about something probably irrelevant. The girl is yelling and him and say something that offends her and him in one sentence. The boy immediately stops her with words 'Don't say that!' This pisses of the girl even more, because she can say anything she wants about him. But it is not what he meant. He didn't want her to offend herself, he didn't care about the part about him at all. This basically stops the fight.

How old are the main characters? Are they high school or college students, or what are their jobs?

I think it was like five, maybe six years ago. I am sure it is not a very new book
