The community turned on Nick (and to some degree, Morgan) pretty quickly. Did you understand their point of view? How do you think you would have reacted?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments While I understood their anger, the fact that they so readily accepted Nick's guilt and turned on him with such aggression was surprising. Knowing Morgan and her family should have made them at least question whether the police had the right person. Their rush to judgment was appalling.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Unfortunately, this happens far too often. People make up their minds very quickly and it takes a lot to change those minds. Vandalism and threats of social media are becoming commonplace. The fact that the police didn't do their job didn't help at all.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I didn't understand it since they live in a small community. I thought that they would give Morgan a chance to show the evidence. However, since Tessa's family is wealthy, they have the advantage of getting their side out louder and faster.

I think the community was forced to choose a side because Tessa’s grandparents did with great fanfare. Once they accepted Nick was the killer, it was easier for them to turn their backs on him. It was shameful as they hadn’t a clue about what was true and what was not. They didn’t even raise a question about his guilt or innocence.

And I’ve just got to say, spitting on Morgan told me a lot about the grandmother. That was classless and foul.

This is when I lost all sympathy for them.
