I Read this book years ago and kept it with me but in a move last year it got lost and for the life of me I can't remember the name or Author.

Its cover was a purple color with white wings.

The hero was a professional Football player who is from Athens Georgia. His best friend is named ( I believe ) Shark or something close to that. He is thinking of retiring but they keep offering more and more.

The Heroine is a Professional Model from Athens Texas. She's giving up modeling and going to be traveling.

Now both meet in Athens Greece and after meeting and feeling close decide to travel together. Our heroine finds out before our hero that they are the reincarnation of past lovers from the Roman empire time. Both were like peasants but loved each other. He gos on to become a fighter in the coliseum. Thinking he will win there freedom and get a happy ever after. But fame becomes more important and our Heroine was sold to a nasty man. She runs to him and he sees her but other fighters lift him up and party with him. She then gos to a Clift looking at where he is fighting and jumps to her death. They've remet a few times and he always chooses Fame. Now it's there last time to get it right. But when our hero and heroine are on the last leg of the trip. In love he gets a call to come home because the team made a better offer and now he is going to resign up. He asks our Heroine to come but at this point she remember everything and doesn't. On the plan to return to Georgia he is visited by a Good like person who SHOWS him the past including her jumping. He then hears crying and asks who that is and the good replies those are your children who never got to be born. We then return to our heroine once more at home when the hero turns up and says he didn't sign. He's staying with her. The book ends with them watching his old team on the TV.

That's all I remember. I believe the book was either made in late 80s or early 90s it was originally my Aunt's and she brought it with a bunch of Love Swept books.
