IF ANYONE CAN CONTACT THE MAN HIMSELF

As it happens, after I joined GR a little while ago, I was so impressed with the quality and knowledge of most of the comments that I mentioned it to Steve. The problem is, as I'm sure you aware, the man simply has NO TIME. What little he has to himself he treasures, (that's why no Facebook or anything like it) He loves his Constant Readers, but we have become such a large number of people all over the world that he says it does feel sometimes like people are always asking for a small piece of him. That's one of the reasons he announced his "retirement" several years ago. Fortunately, he's just too much the writer to just stop, and we are lucky enough to get the results!
It's not snobbery, or anything like that... Uncle Stevie just needs some ALONE time -- (but I will tell you not to be surprised if one of his characters logs on suddenly... never to be heard from again.... His favorite "name" for these quick comments is Gage Creed.
There is a group on here dedicated to get authors to join goodreads. That might help. I can see that he wouldn't want to be on here chit-chatting about himself. It's probably boring to him.

I bet he loved it. I did. :)

SK goes out of his way to find not only America's best, but the world's.

In No Way Shape Or Form, did I ever think the man was a Snob... Far from it... But it just seemed 2 me that we are in a kinda SK rut & I'll be Honest..... My dream is to meet the Man Himself 1 day, if only for a moment long enough to say; "I love your Books, Misery's my favorite. Could You Sign It....Or Thank You for Everything.... Yadda, yadda, yadda.... :)
I have Misery's 1st edition "paperback" because I just like paperbacks now.
I dreamed about Him all night a few nights ago for the 1st time ever & in a way, I guess I miss seeing his cameo's in the "movie versions" or the cool "Amex" commercial he did, years back.
I just miss seeing him..... But a Live Appearance wouldn't be so bad ether :)

Heh.
LOL.... I agree.. but it is... That's why I would say something like "I Love Your Books" not "I'm Your #1 Fan." LOL...... I'm Not Totally Nutz.... Or am I??? LOL

I know what you mean, Dung B - for two hours, and all the night before I managed to "bump into him" I labored over exactly what I'd say... when the "Shining Moment" finally came, I did manage to stutter out the right thing, which turned out to be, "Have you ever read...?"

LOL!

A guy can dream, can he?

That would be really cool but he only have to check the New York best seller list for that.

He should just say "Never have I read a work of such importance!" ;)

It's one thing to be "in the moment" and enjoy something while you're reading it, but in my opinion, if it doesn't hold up in memory, its not that great.
*shrug*

Any questions?"
I love Rob (Or Stephen King whoever you are)!

King isn't out of the pop culture loop. I am sure he knows about Goodreads and has peaked in and checked it out!

Hey, I don't know if anybody cares. But I finally saw a movie this weekend [thanx 2 netflix:] That was So much reminiscent of S.K.'s novel Firestarter... I just thought it was so cool,[for lack of a better word:]that he's really influenced most of the coming up generation.....
If anybody knows the Title... They win a 'Know it all about S.K. :) from me........ LOL

But, how could we try to invite him?
Like.. Does he have an e-mail or something?
It waould have to be really convincent. We'd have to find a way that would attract him, so he'd come.
I so want to talk to him.
And yeah Always, WE CAND DREAM! *.*

One more thing...I do have sympathy for him about the "everyone seems to want a piece of me". He may be richer than God, but he is after all a regular guy who wants a regular life. He just happens to be talented and loves what he does and it's a shame that some people just don't get that.

I go onto the message board on his website a lot. You may be able to leave a message there for him to read. He would more likely read that then the threads here at GR. The moderator on that website (she is called Ms. Mod) always answers people. She says he does stop there every now and then.
Here is one way to try to get a question or comment to Mr. King, he will be appearing for Times Talk Live and you can submit a question over the internet here:

Depending on what state you are in, you can even go to the theater and watch the interview. My state isn't on there BOO!

I'm so sorry Angie... I feel so bad for you too :(
Let's invite him to "Goodreads"
