Wrong author on my books, ONCE AGAIN.

I don't have time to do this with every book I release. I asked to change my author name years ago to avoid confusion and was denied. Also, please DO NOT allow others to add my books to any profile if this is going to continue to happen.

1. Books can be added to Goodreads by any user any where in the world.

2. Books are imported to Goodreads automatically from scores of sources, including but not limited to Amazon.

3. There is no way to keep your books from being added by users/readers. It is a function of Goodreads.

4. Automatic imports follow the publishing entity's format for author name. The way your name imports is the way that entity manages it. Some imports come in with the author's last name first, and some come in with the author's name in all capital letters. Regardless of the initial format, there is no way to have your work automatically added to your Goodreads author name which is: Matthew^^James where the ^ equals a space as the systemic functions between various electronic entities remove the extra spaces in titles, publishers, author names and descriptions.

5. Goodreads disambiguates between authors of the same name with spaces before the last name. Including middle names and initials, there are more than 30 variations of the names Matt James or Matthew James.

6. It takes a librarian a couple of minutes or less to move a work to the correct profile. If you ask in this forum to have your work moved it is a really quick process and librarians around the world do this multiple times hourly. Just provide a hyperlink to the work in question ask that it be moved to your profile.

7. If you have a problem with site functionality, Goodreads librarians cannot help you as librarians are volunteers not Goodreads staff. You can reach Goodreads staff at: Contact Us
