This was a book series I read around 2005. I believe there are either 10 or 11 in the series.

It focuses on three teenagers on different worlds that discover they can use magic. A boy in a NYC type setting, a girl in a medieval fantasy setting, and a boy in a futuristic slight dystopian setting (I remember he also has slightly bluish skin). Something ends up bringing them together and each book focuses on them on a different world. And the closer they are to the central planet the stronger their magic is.

I know Its not much, I read the first three books about 15 years ago. Thank you for any help!
