SOLVED. Looking for a book about a big old house where time passes much more slowly. there is Halloween and Christmas every day. title might have something to do with time? [s]

This is a book about a boy who has a very boring life, and then one day a flying man comes to his house and talks to him. The next day, the man takes him to a huge house because the boy needs more fun in his life. Time passes very weirdly at this house - the boy is there for about a month but in the real world a couple of decades pass? Christmas and Halloween happen every day. There is a nice cook and three cats. There is a girl with braids who collects boxes and turns into a fish, and a slightly overweight boy who becomes the main character's companion, but is more easily won over by the house. The boys leave but come back to rescue everyone. The main boy has a battle with the house itself, but eventually defeats it and sets time back to what it used to be. please help!
