But trouble finds Cara when one of her eight remaining doppelgängers dies under mysterious circumstances, plunging her into a new world with an old secret. (view spoiler)[This is so confusing! She being an imposter is pretty interesting but she is talkig so much about other Earths that I'm not sure what is what is not part of Earth-0. Maybe it's because I'm listening to this on audio but I feel like there is so much info dumping, especially about some Earths (and I think we won't even visit them). (hide spoiler)]

I'm also listening to the audio but have the hardcover. I, too, am lost at some points, so I go back and reread the same passage in the hardcover. (view spoiler)[ I do have to say that the buildup to the revelation that she isn't the "real" Caramenta" from Earth Zero was exciting and intriguing. I think some of that confusion was due in part to her stating early on that she can't remember and keep track of things, especially with her family, and we as readers weren't in the know to the truth just yet. Knowing that she is a doppelganger impersonating the real traveler gave me a boost to see how this plays out. I do like that the author isn't dragging out the plot. We know immediately that another version of her has died but was murdered, so I look forward to jumping into that arc right away. (hide spoiler)]

This might be a DNF for me.(view spoiler)[ I’m getting annoyed with the amount of time spent that Cara is waxing poetically about Dell. I get it. You like her. She’s good. You’re not and you just want her love. Can we PLEASE move on?! How many different ways can she say the same thing over and over. A lot it seems. (hide spoiler)]

I'm actually thinking about it as well. But something interesting just happen so I'm going to listen one more chapter and decide based on that.

Oh. OK. I've just finished Chapter 5 so I will wait until I get to Chapter 11 since you mentioned that something interesting has happened, I will push through until, then to decide as well.

Okay so I managed to finish it and I have to say some of it got better. I still feel like some parts should be explained way more, I still don't like Cara and I really don't like being in her head. But storywise it got better.
I would give first half of this book just 1* because I wanted to DNF it so many times! And I probably should to be honest because reading this this felt like chore. Second half I would give maybe 3*. I still have a lot problems with it. So I'll give it 2*.
