Well, I'm done throwing myself a pity party for being so technically inferior to all of you ;-) going to listen to Legend on audio, I need to clean out my closet and find listening to audiobooks easier if you're Multi tasking.my problem is the account I set up on my phone is not matching the one on the website, sent an email to support but haven't heard back. I went on the site today and got a little frustrated, the app is just so easy they need to add those links to the app.

Berit, you shouldn't need to contact support if you know the email address you used. Just to go the sign in part of the main site and click on 'forgot password'. Then enter your email and you'll be able to set a new password. You won't need to contact anyone - it'll be an automatic email.

Here is my problem Gail, I don't know what email I used to set up the app :-) so, now I have set up a profile that is not the same as my profile on my app. Does that make sense? I'm trying to figure out a way to figure it out. I only have one email address so I don't know, what I did. Is anyone surprised?

Are you kidding? Can you imagine me having to create a spreadsheet? That is probably never going to happen ;-)I have never had a job that required me to even touch a computer :-)

Did you sign into the app via Facebook, maybe? You probably made one account with an email address and the other via FB. If you only have one email address, do what I said with your email address and then use the link it gives you to make a new password. Use that to log in to your account on the website. If it's the same account as your app, then problem solved. If not, then log out and try to log into the website via FB. One way or another, you'll find your app account and be able to use it on the website.

Gail, I already did that. It is a mystery, and I get in there and get very frustrated. I do not have a Facebook, so I don't know what happened ;-) no worries I will figure it out

So when you reset your password, which account did it take you to, Berit? Your app account or your website account?

It takes me to my website account. I'm thinking of starting my app account all over with that information, because I know that email and password. I was trying to figure a way around that though. We shall see!

Other possibilities are that you signed in using your Amazon account or your google account. Have you tried those?

Do you have a link to your other account? When you sign in on the website and go to your profile, can you copy the URL and view your other account through your app account?

For instance, the URL for the account you're posting from is https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/3...

So realistically the URL for your other account will be the same but a different number before -berit.

Oops - I just did a search for Berit and there are hundreds of them, and I clicked on one, but accidentally clicked on the bit to add as a friend, so now a friend request has been send to some Berit out there! Berit if it happens to be you, then you can add me back if you like, but I'm suspecting it's probably another Berit I don't know and wondering if there's a way to undo the friend request. Anyone know?

That is funny, I did the same thing trying to find myself :-) thought I could send myself a friend request and then link myself from one account to another through that. I had no idea so many people have my name, I have only ever met one.

Did you find yourself out of the many Berits? Once you've worked out your URL it will be easy to find yourself. I don't think friending yourself will link your accounts, but you'll at least be able to find your other account quickly and it will be easier for the admin people trying to sort it out.

Not yet, I was just thinking if I were to get rid of my app account, I could find my friends through being my own friend, does that make sense?

Gail you can undo the request clicking in the "friends" symbol, then click in "people I'm following" (right upper corner). Look for the person you send the request, and I am sure you have there the option of undo the request. I can't check it in my account because I'm not following anyone right now, but I remember doing it.

Looks like everyone is doing so well! Wish I had more time for reading this weekend but it's not going that way. I'd MUCH rather be reading. *weep*

I second what Sandra says, life happens, and we have no control over that. This is supposed to be fun, I'm having fun seen how many books I can actually read in a week. I am also very fortunate that this is a very good week for me to do that ;-) the whole team is doing amazing,yay us!!

I also won't read many books, EstaAmelia - I haven't completed any yet, but should finish the two I signed up for by the end of the Toppler. Ironically, I took the week off work, because I'm unwell with some fluey virus, and I thought I'd be able to read loads of books at home in bed, but I have such a headache it's hard to concentrate. Still, I'm really enjoying the books I'm reading, even though it's slow going.

Oh, and thanks for explaining how to undo friend requests, Sandra.
