Ignoring the existence of character Kate (booking agent) is a pretty glaring plot hole for me, she could've sent help to the chalet since she's aware of the staff and guest in each chalet.

The only thing I’m assuming is because they’ve targeted this one character as being the culprit this early on & there’s still hours left of the book (listening to audio) that there may be another twist towards the end. You know how like when stories pin this one character fairly early on? Unless the rest of the book is just finding a way to get away from said murderer. Idk I guess I’m just hoping I didn’t figure this out from the beginning without even trying.

Erin discusses working for the chalet as an employee, not as the owner, so someone somewhere knows Erin is there with a group of techie millionaires. That kind of shoots the entire plot point of needing to go get help in the foot doesn't it? People know they're there, people obviously know there's been an avalanche. They talk about Inigo making or not making that phone call as if without it no one in the world will know to come rescue them. Of course, it's a bit more dire now that they've started killing each other off but that attitude was there before the discovery that Eva is dead.
Another small thing that has confused me throughout is that Ware made a big deal of pointing out in the beginning that when you are offline, all your snoopers get disconnected from you. Why do Erin's chapters consistently start by saying she's offline and has 5 snoopers? If she's offline, shouldn't zero people be snooping her? Maybe that doesn't mean what I think it means.

Yes I feel it's obvious where the story is going (I hope i'm wrong though)
I'm hoping for shocking twist and reveals. If the ending is good I'll probably give it 5 stars.... but I got a feeling that that's no going to happen so I suspect I'll give it 4 stars.

I mean I have my hunches and they are usually right (especially with Ware), but the book is still enjoyable.
I’m mostly thinking right now is this going to turn into a run around and hide from the killer book or what?
We know from the beginning that 4 people die and 2 are injured enough to need hospitalization, so only 2 more people die. Unless Eva and Inigo are really dead.
I am unsure how much I like the book. I am always this way with Ware books so far. But it’s enjoyable. I just wish this author wrote characters that were like-able a little more, but that’s me. I honestly don’t care about a single character so if they all died I wouldn’t mind.

I think it is too obvious to be Liz. I think that it is Eva. I think she threw her phone over the edge so people would think she died and then she snuck back and was slowly killing people. Im not sure the motive but I really don't believe she is dead, it seems to convenient that she would die and then there is an avalanche. I do like the theory that it is Miranda, BUT what is the motive???
What do you hope happens in the final third?
I hope we find out what happened to Eva. Also I really like Danny so I hope he makes it back. I think that at least one other person is going to die based on the beginning news article. I think this because it says 4 die, and at this point they all think 3 people are dead, but like I said I am not totally convinced Eva is dead, so 2 other people could be killed. I am not counting (Indigo in this but he could be the 4th dead but that's just a boring plot line if he just leaves and freezes to death) I don't think Erin or Liz will die because I know they are the 2 perspectives we get the whole book, and because if either of them is the killer then they are dumb to kill each other when they are the only ones there. Too obvious and not a smart plan to not get caught.
If you had to rate this right now, what does it get?
I would give it a 3 star rating, which it will stay at if my predictions are correct (Eva isn't dead and she is killing everyone) and it doesn't get more interesting. It could go up if it gets more exciting and also if my prediction is correct and it is done well. If its Liz just killing for revenge then I will probably rate it 3 or 2 stars because that's just boring.

I was under the impression that it was Danny following her since there was the scene where he saw her username and commented on it but then wouldn't give her his. towards the beginning of the book

Hoping for a twist because I dont think we've gotten that yet.
Rating I'm around 3.75-4 stars

I hope we find out what happened to Eva and Inigo.
So far I like this book and if I had to rate it now I would give it 4 stars.

I hadn't thought about the plot hole of people knowing that they're there and not sending for help. it is bothering me now lol. I also felt like the Erin plot twist was lame. Don't know why. I just didn't like it.
I'm very intrigued by the snoop info at the beginning of the chapters, specially Liz's. I hope it makes some sense into the story, the fact that she has that one follower or why it took so long for Erin's snoopers to go to zero.
I would give this 4 stars so far, maybe 3.5 if I'm proven right.

1) Liz was roped in as an accomplice to Topher (or Eva if she's actually alive and doing this) and did steel the key to help him.
2) someone else is the killer and planted the key on Liz.
3) Liz stole the key for other reasons (maybe searching in people's rooms?)
Those are the only I can legit think of. But I'm often wrong in thrillers and I'm so hoping that there is a twist I don't see coming. I will say, even if the answer is obvious, I do tend to enjoy Ware's books, especially her newer ones from The Death of Mrs. Westaway and on. This book is also catered exactly to a trope I love, closed circle mysteries. I need more books with this trope so badly. I absolutely love "An Unwanted Guest" by Shari Lapena for the same reason.
I think I may end up rewatching Clue tonight because of this book. I just love spooky mysteries in hotels and resorts disconnected from society.

Rating. It's stronger than I thought it would be given all of the mixed reviews I've seen. I'm sitting at about a 4 right now.

Could it be that in the last third we get a surprise twist? Eva not being dead? Maybe - or we just get a motive finaly revealed and the big rescue. I said it before and stand by it - either Eva will pop up alive, or we`ll see her corpse. Anyway - I`m quite certain that Liz was the one Ani saw in Eva`s red jacket (she bought it for her, so she could get similar/same one and wear it under her oversized suit).
Honestly I would take any twist to make this more complicated, but preferably something that is satisfying and make sense. Not that I hate this book, I still enjoy it, but it irritates me how obvious the answer is. The Guest List was also predictable and I loved that. This book annoys me.
So far 4/5 stars and depending on the ending it will fall or rise.

I still think Eva is alive. I'm always suspicious of deaths in thrillers with no body. Maybe she's the killer? I'm pretty sure Inigo is dead, but we'll see.
Very curious about Liz's sole "Snoopscriber" as well. Hard to rate at the moment, probably a 3.5? Thriller ratings really depend on the plot twists for me, and how realistically believable they are.

Do you have any theories to share?
I still think Liz is pregnant because I haven’t seen anything that contradicts it in this part. Also, I’m guessing Liz is the killer by this point, because of a few indications:
1. When everyone heard Ani told Innigo she saw Eva skiing down the slope, she could’ve realised that it wouldn’t take long before Ani realised it wasn’t Eva that she saw, so she did have opportunity to steal the keys and when Ani said she realised she saw something not right, she could use the keys. I reckon it was Liz who skied down, not Eva.
2. She went down in the bubble lift, but it didn’t seem to be questioned by people. Did people really see her or they just assumed?
3. As Erin said about Miranda, it would be easy to fake inability to ski.
4. When Erin said the guilt of causing people’s death changed her, she almost agreed with her but refrained because ‘it would be crazy’. I took it as it would be crazy to admit her crime.
5. I’m guessing she faked the fall to injure her knees on purpose so she wouldn’t have to walk outside in the snow. Perhaps because she wanted to be seen less in the snow (to fake her skill), or perhaps because she was pregnant and wouldn’t be able to walk for 6 hours, or perhaps she wanted to be alone in the resort to do something.
6. She definitely could be the one dropping the keys between the cushions.
What do you hope happens in the final third?
If my guess was right and the whodunnit would be revealed soon (rather than on the last page), I’m hoping to see thrilling action scenes in the third part so that even though it’s no longer a mystery, it can still be a thriller.
If you had to rate this right now, what does it get?
3.5 stars, but can still change to 4 depending on what happens in the third part.
I actually still enjoyed this. I had to stop myself reading to write this now, but I can’t wait to continue. It’s such a fast read!

ok so Liz got one Snoopsscriber suddenly. who sings the truth Elliot, because the next morning is when I found something out on his computer.
And has anybody notice that in between Erin has five snoopers than zero than five. Hopefully, there is some sort of explanation to this, otherwise I will be very annoyed.

I will rate it 5/5 till now.

my favorite thing about reading thrillers is im so bad at predicting what happens next that 95% of the time, im surprised haha.
if i had to rate it right now, id say a solid 3, maybe 3.25. it’s not a bad book by any means, im just not fully vibing with it
Discussion 2 of 3.
