Kelly Brigid ♡ stop doing it! I think I'm the only person on this freaking website that realizes that people who haven't read a book, can see the discussions! There's a little link at the bottom of your home page called "view discussions". If you click on it, there's a section at the top called "recent discussions". And guess what happens when you click on it? You see the most recent discussions, regardless if you have the book shelved or not. I've seen so many threads with "Aww, Finnick died, put a frowny face", "Who's death was saddest: Finnick, Prim, or Cinna(where you're giving away 3 deaths!)?". And so, everyone who hasn't read Mockingjay, now know several of the deaths in the book. I've tried to explain this over and over and over again, but everyone always just tells me "Why would someone who hasn't read Mockingjay look at the discussions? Wouldn't only the people who've read the book look at the discussions? You're being so ridiculous. I'm done here." Seriously, every time I try to say it, that's the exact response I get.

So, everyone, please don't put deaths or other major spoilers in the topic titles. Just do like, "I'm really upset about...(SPOILERS!)" Seriously, it's not that difficult.

Dramapuppy EXACTLY. I HATE it when people put deaths in the subject lines. Only problem? This thread isn't marked as spoilers and you just spoiled the same three deaths...

Izzy Yes!!!! I mean most of the time I've read all the books with the death spoilers in the title but if I haven't I would be so angry at the creators of the discussion. They just need to make the titles like (SPOILER DISCUSSION. DO NOT ENTER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK) instead of just stating it in the title.

Kelly Brigid ♡ Dramapuppy wrote: "EXACTLY. I HATE it when people put deaths in the subject lines. Only problem? This thread isn't marked as spoilers and you just spoiled the same three deaths..."

That's why I posted it in a Mockingjay discussion :P

Dramapuppy Yes, but there's nothing in the subject line to indicate that there might be spoilers; you should have hidden them. I just think it's kind of ironic in a discussion about spoilers.

Emma There is a difference between posting a spoiler on a discussion for the first book, and posting it on the last.

For example this series. Don't post death spoilers that happen in the other books on the first book, post it in the book it happens in.

Don't spoil that Finnick dies in the hunger games, but it's okay to say in in a Mockingjay discussion, because THAT'S when it happened.

Most people who are discussing this book on goodreads will assume everyone has read it, so if you haven't and you're looking for curiosity, then that's your own fault.

People can research a book before they read it and get spoilers from wikipedia for god sake!

See, this is okay, because THIS BOOK is when those deaths happened. If Kelly had posted this for The Hunger Games or Catching Fire, then it would be a problem.

AgCl Emma wrote: "♪~Kelly~♪ wrote: "Dramapuppy wrote: "EXACTLY. I HATE it when people put deaths in the subject lines. Only problem? This thread isn't marked as spoilers and you just spoiled the same three deaths......"

of course its not okay, people go to wikipedia voluntarily, but people who haven't read the book could still see discussion titles and that's not cool. Sometimes people actually put up discussions on books they still haven't read just to get the public's general views on it without needing to slog through lengthy reviews or risk spoilers but even if you put up NO SPOILERS in the title some trolls who comment blabber on anyway.

...and oh yeah kelly it really is pointless to rant about people who spoil when you've put up spoilers yourself, it kinda negates your own statement:

"I think I'm the only person on this freaking website that realizes that people who haven't read a book, can see the discussions!"

you know you could always use this to hide them, just take out the periods: <.spoiler>...<./.spoiler>

Dramapuppy Yes, AgCl. You didn't spoil it for me, or anything. PROBABLY no one who hasn't read it will click on this thread. But the title doesn't even indicate that it's about the book, much less that there might be spoilers. I'm just a big stickler about spoilers.

Kelly Brigid ♡ I started this thread, based off spoilers in a TITLE. I don't have anything against putting spoilers in a discussion(as long as they come from that book), which is why I named the three deaths. If people want to click on discussions for other books, then that's their funeral, but it's not their fault if they're just scrolling through discussions and some person put a death/major spoiler in a title.

What's really annoying, is when people put spoilers from other books in discussions or reviews for a different book, without even indicating that there's spoilers. I learned a certain death in Allegiant from a House of Hades review. The person was complaining how there wasn't any deaths in the book, and that it should had been more like Mockingjay and Allegiant which had (and then listed deaths).

Izzy I believe that spoilers are the worst thing about this website. Just, no one wants to know what happens and then if you want to read one of those new popular dystopian books there's going to be a death or something big going on in the book and someone's going to put it as the title. It's terrible, really.

Seriously. I'm paranoid whenever I'm waiting to read a new release.

Same. Especially, when the book is a sequel. Someone always posts a spoiler in the previous book's discussions...

This happens a lot on Twitter and Facebook, too. It happens in some reviews also. It seems to me that a person who doesn't want spoilers should probably stay away from any form of social media about the book .

Yeah, it's true. My goodreads use goes way down when a new release comes out and I haven't read it yet. And I tend to look at the book icons in discussion instead of browsing actual titles.

Storm Arashi Amen to this.... >_O I keep having people try to spoil The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices for me. Although when I read the Hunger Games I read it long before I ever heard of Goodreads... Ah... Mockingjay... One all nighter from hell...
