One down, 14 to go! This Was Our Pact is a graphic novel about some boys who decide to follow the lanterns that are sent down the river during the autumn equinox celebration, and see where they go. It was really beautiful and needs to be a Studio Ghibli movie.

For #1 (the long book) I'm reading Machine of Death: A Collection of Stories About People Who Know How They Will Die. I started this one in February but have actually hardly read any of it.
For #10 (book read mostly when it's dark outside) I'm reading Stars In Her Eyes. This was an easy choice because it's my current ebook, and I always read on my Kobo in bed, so basically any ebook I read is always read when it's dark out! I just started it a few days ago and am only a few pages in (because I've been falling asleep really fast lately lol).
For #11 (book read mostly outside) I'm reading Haiti Noir. This was another easy choice; it's my current audiobook, which I always listen to on my walks to and from work.
For #15 (set in a location you wish you could visit), I just started Are These My Basoomas I See Before Me?, which is set in England. This is the last book in the series and the only one I haven't read, and I started this series probably 15 years ago! So I'm pumped to finally find out how Georgia's story wraps up.

I know what you mean! I have plenty of 500+ page books, but not many I could realistically read by the 24th, even without trying to read 14 other books besides! Well my edition of The Night Circus is 516 pages (according to Goodreads at least; maybe I should check the actual book lol) so I'm going with that, even though apparently the page numbers vary hugely between editions! I was just trying to find something that was only a little more than 500 pages, rather than one of my 800 page books!

Second book down! I listened to this audiobook on my commute, so basically 100% outside. It's a book of short noir stories set in Haiti.

Regarding 500+ page books, I'm reading Bridge of Clay. I've had this book on my TBR for about 2 years, but it's not what I expected. The Book Thief blew me away whereas Bridge is decent so far.

3/15 done! And I finally finished a series I started reading in high school (which was 15+ years ago). The series is set in England, which is a place I would like to visit.

4/15 done! This was probably the weirdest Animorphs book I've ever read, and I loved it. It was 121 pages.

Yeah that category made me glad we have that option! Even if I wanted to read a book about spring in autumn lol I can't even think of a book that's set in spring. It's just not a season I think of as a book setting, unlike autumn which is so atmospheric.

5/15 done! One third done the challenge, while two thirds through the time lol. But I am replacing a few of the remaining ones with quicker reads (with the unfortunate side effect that I won't be getting through as much of my library pile as I was hoping, but oh well). And I'm almost done my audiobook so I might be able to squeeze in one more audiobook for the challenge by the end of the week, too. There's hope yet! I'm starting my long book tonight; a lot rides on how deeply I get into The Night Circus.

5. Read a book that is 75% one color on the cover.

7/15 done! Two more books polished off today! Stargazing was a graphic novel; I swapped it in for a longer novel I had on my list before, in hopes of finishing this challenge lol. And Lily and Dunkin was an audiobook; I finished it early enough that I can squeeze in another one this week! So there's another swap that'll help!

8/15 done! This might be the first time I've ever read the same book twice in one year lol. I first read this one in January, and it instantly became a favourite of mine, but I knew it would be even better to read it in autumn, because it's "like every autumn smell all at once".

I'm still going to see if I can finish the four books I have in progress by the read-a-thon: my long book (The Night Circus), my book read when it's dark outside (Stars in Her Eyes), the book with an animal on its cover (The Other), and the book with an author whose name starts with L (Shouting at the Rain). Even that is a stretch! But we'll see!
