NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11067 comments I can't get enough of RBG! This book provides really good explanations of key issues, and interesting aspects of her life. The audio helped to convey her warmth and intelligence, and it's easier to understand than a list of facts. It doesn't cover as much breadth as The Notorious RBG, but it might be better as a first book.

This is my second book about her and I just rewatched the movie about her first women's rights cases. She was phenomenal, and it will take a powerhouse candidate to fill her spot. This book covers conversations and letters between Jeffrey Rosen and Ruth Bader Ginsberg over a long period of time. They shared a love of opera as well as of the constitution.

They had many conversations about Roe v Wade, and her criticism of the broad reaching scope of the decision. She believed that abortion wouldn't be as contentious of an issue today if the court had taken a more limited stance, rather than make it the law of the land for all states. Her approach to women's rights cases was more gradual. She believes that court decisions should reflect changes in the culture, but should not lead those changes.

There is a great deal of repetition in this book. It was annoying on some issues, but it was very helpful in others. I learned a lot by hearing her explain her views in different ways.
