Yeah...it all came crashing together at the end. That was really well done on McClung's part. There was a lot to sift through and then BAM there was more mystery than you thought to begin with.
I still want to know how the fight with the Weeping Mother ended. I felt we were kind of left hanging with that one.
As for Bath I kept wondering whether the intent was to imprison her all along or if what all happened was intentional in order to get Amra to do what she did, but it had to happen in that specific sequence. Either way that was a good twist at the end of the book.

(The) Arhat, the conduit of hatred. The Weeping Mother, Guardian of the Dead. The apathy of the gods – Bath's intended eternal confinement of Amra. Heirus, founder of the Philosophers, assassin, mage, legend, just tired of it all. Bosch...still eww.
We you happy with the answers you were seeking?!
I personally loved how McClung handled all these moving pieces. The brevity of them all just made me believe there is SO MUCH to discover in the Amra Thetys universe, and I have this need to know all of it! Concise worldbuilding is something I will always appreciate. Did this execution work for you?
