They switched the current/old format with their awful beta format for a few weeks, but A) no one I know in the numerous groups I am in likes their new format and B) their beta format was buggy. I could not see book info at all for the weeks it was in place. It kept erring. After much complaining from GR members, they finally reverted to the old format. However, they may try to cram the new format down our throats again sometime in the future. Why would they listen to those of us who actually use the site?

Well it hasn't been switched back for everyone yet anyway! Maybe it is progressive the same as the roll out was. I might be a case of first in last out

I don't know what I did for it to change 'cos I certainly didn't clear cache or anything like that
I probably shouldn't risk jinxing myself, but the only time I saw the new book page was ages ago after clicking the option to see what it looks like. I thought it was awful so reverted to the original, and it seems to have stayed put. This is on a laptop with Windows 10. As for notifications, they seem very iffy. Sometimes I happen to see and reply to comments on a review only to be notified of them a day or two later.
But for the price, what can we expect?! 🤣

That's interesting - such varied actions!
Having a lot of issues today posting comments, liking reviews, etc. Very frustrating!

I passionately hate everything about the new format.
Seeing the old page was like unexpectedly bumping into a dear friend I hadn't seen in years. Bittersweet.

Then I went to the "My Books" page, clicked whatever was in the shelves column for the book and made my corrections (in your case, I would change "read" to "currently reading") and that's also where I added my shelves such as "Mystery"
It's funny how we block remembering things we don't like. My pages reverted to the old format So I am trying to recall how the new one looks. I think that you right click on the button about read status and a bubble opens that lets you pick from your personal shelf names and Read/ to-read/currently reading. But I may be remembering wrong. I've found it much easier to go through 'My Books' since they changed to the new book pages. Such a pain!

Exactly Brenda. My Goodreads has been working fine the last week or so when I am on the pad and I thought the glitch was fixed. They had reverted to the old format where everything worked..Then yesterday afternoon rather day before it reverted back to the new useless format and ‘ an unexpected error occurred’ very annoying. No point complaining though as a I did that before and they don’t care, just ignored. Seems only apparently want positive feedback. Good luck with that!

So sad here. I have finally lost my familiar old page format and am now suffering through the new one with you all, going around in circles trying to find things. ARGH#*!
Mine went to the new, then back to the old and I thought yay and now it is back to the new :(
Mine reverted to the new page on Sunday, but I cleared my cookies and history again, and all is well. Happy back on the old page.

Thanks for that info Andrea. Dh did similarly for me with my iPad and it has reverted to the old one. Hope now it stay that way. I hate having to go and sit at the desk computer to do things.
UPDATE - I found I have to go to the Home Page to update current progress. I'd still like to know if it's possible on the book's page.======
I have been on the new page (laptop) for a couple of weeks now. I haven't figured out yet how to update my reading progress on whatever I'm currently reading. You know, the page number or percentage read so far.
I can make a comment, but I'd just like to update my progress and note whether it's slow, quick, funny, whatever at this point.
Suggestions? (I know it's just a FWP, First World Problem).
For the past two days I haven’t been able to use the search line to find books. If I click on a link someone has posted, that works fine but manually entering a book/author name to search, a message pops up saying “feature disabled” - how can they disable the search function?! So annoying

But in another thread, Suz posted a tip that works well. Search via Google, and use Goodreads as part of your search term. Works perfectly.
Don't know if anyone else has experienced this recently?When I am in my account and try to edit a review I have posted (simply left a 'review to follow' review at first), the book shows as being 'want to read' and asks me to sign in or register for a Goodreads account. If I click 'Sign in', it simply takes me back to my own account page!! Also can't add any books to my 'want to read' list as it again asks me to 'sign in or register'!!
Any similar issues??

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to add two editions of the same book to my shelves? I used to be able to. The Goodreads tip doesn't work on the 'new' page, and I want to shelve both the written version and the audio version so I can compliment the narrator.What am I missing?

It was quite easy before, you'd just select "Review this edition" in the "All editions" list. That doesn't seem to work anymore. What if you add a second read/review date then manually change the edition for that review?

I haven't tried that, Sarah. I don't usually count the audio as a separate read when I've listened to only part of it, but I might give that a go.
Didn't work, Sarah. It still wanted me to change the original edition.

And then my book page reverted to the old one. I can't remember how I did it the one time, so I can't help you, but I empathise with you 😵💫
