Hello all!

We just voted in A book related to a word given by a random word generator for our 2021 list, and Avery thought it would be fun to pick a few words as a group and see what everyone comes up with.

Using the generator, here are the words we got:

- dialect
- dependence
- hand
- professional
- lick

Let's see what y'all can come up with!

Hannah Peterson | 460 comments I kind of love the idea of reading something written in dialect! The Color Purple and some of Toni Morrison's books spring to mind (The Bluest Eye, or Beloved), or Trainspotting, for a non-American example, or even a fictional dialect, like A Clockwork Orange.

Sherri Harris | 895 comments I have a question about this prompt. Are we to use the word generator on our own or use the words above that are already chosen?

Up to you! The prompt is meant to be an individual challenge (you use the generator to find your own word), but we had some members ask for a group list so they could plan together and discuss, which is why I posted this here. How you choose to tackle it is up to you!
