James Lott | 5 comments I read the book sometime between 2005 and 2010. I remember that the softcover was blue. There was a lot of alternate history and, as I said, crystal tunnels or tubes that were supposed to channel some kind of energy that would protect the planet from.... something. I don't remember what exactly but I think it was a "2012" type situation.

James, is this book written for adults?

beichst | 171 comments This is a long-shot but there seem to be some parts of the description that seem to be similar to the plot in Bermuda Triangle by Greg Donegan. It came out in 1999.

The plot includes a presumed history of the Bermuda Triangle. A plane crashes in Cambodia, and a secret CIA team is sent on rescue mission, but mysterious monsters and shadows appear. Long passages about technical aspects of planes, satellites, time travel and different dimensions.

Without too much in spoilers and as you note, the sites turn out to be protecting Earth.

The premise of this book is to stop a solar flare from basically cooking the earth. 3 teams are trying to get to the 7 Wonders of the World where the pieces of top of the Pyramid of Giza are hidden which is a crystal top.
