Series numbering also changes, so it might be difficult to decide how to number them or not. First edition numbering is 2316 etc and reprints started 3301, but later those are included in original series. Masks of Nyarlathotep was first a boxed set, then reprint in 33xx series and later as a compact version in original numbering series. Basically they are different editions, but for a collector totally different items.

It looks like, here on Goodreads, various source books for a roleplaying game are collected together by making them as all part of the same series. This seems like a reasonable way to do it.
However, for "Call of Cthulhu", there doesn't seem to be any one consistent name for the series that indicates the book belongs to this game.
Presumably because of this, none of these series titles link to any sort of a "Call of Cthulhu" series.
