Aibohphobia (aibohpphobia) | 216 comments This is about the pen-and-paper roleplaying game "Call of Cthulhu", inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

It looks like, here on Goodreads, various source books for a roleplaying game are collected together by making them as all part of the same series. This seems like a reasonable way to do it.

However, for "Call of Cthulhu", there doesn't seem to be any one consistent name for the series that indicates the book belongs to this game.

Presumably because of this, none of these series titles link to any sort of a "Call of Cthulhu" series.

Here are a few examples:

"Call of Cthulhu RPG"

"Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying"

"Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying Game Series"

"Roleplaying Series"

Nothing at all in title:

I'm not a librarian, but I'm very familiar with this game and these books. Let me know what I can do to help.

Arto | 59 comments I am librarian, but this is one of those things I don't like to spend time. There is million author's and ways to write it wrong, so it takes a lot of time to get everything right. And some changes need super librarian. Currently there is 100+ rule/sourcebooks and several editions and languages.

Series numbering also changes, so it might be difficult to decide how to number them or not. First edition numbering is 2316 etc and reprints started 3301, but later those are included in original series. Masks of Nyarlathotep was first a boxed set, then reprint in 33xx series and later as a compact version in original numbering series. Basically they are different editions, but for a collector totally different items.

Aibohphobia (aibohpphobia) | 216 comments I'm glad you mentioned numbering. Since the numbers mentioned in some of the titles are the catalog numbers from the publisher, I wouldn't think they should be included as though they were a book number in the series.

Aibohphobia (aibohpphobia) | 216 comments Now that I'm a librarian, I've completed this project.

Well, mostly completed. A few things here and there could be prettier.
