Children's/YA Fantasy: Choose Your Own Adventure. Main characters are searching for the gems that match their name (onyx, ruby, etc)

When I was a kid in the early 80s, someone got me one of those secret path / choose your own adventure book. There were several main female characters... All gemstone names. Onyx, sapphire, jade, ruby, opal, etc. I forget which was the main one. But there was like 6? It did have endings where characters died if you picked wrong. It was a fantasy type.
Ive Googled and come up w nothing.

Did it seem like part of a themed series, or more of a standalone?

Angela, can you tell us more about the main characters - e.g., ages, human or fantasy creatures like fairies, special powers, students or jobs, family?

The main characters were young adults. All women. Like 5 or 6? The opening scene was the primary character (whos name I can't remember) meeting a man in an alley for information, in a town... that was the first "choice" the reader had to make.

They had to get a "treasure" I don't think they had special powers.

Just to confirm, this book is for kids - not teens or adults?

Tween? I was like 13 when I read it
