I think it can just be a judgement call, but if it looks borderline you can send it to MKat for approval.

I loved this book so much more the 2nd time around. Cross and Pippa are an amazing couple, their banter was great and Cross coming completely undone by her was delicious. It also has one of my favorite seduction scene ever.

Review: This was everything. Never had I started a book with my heart breaking right from the beginning. Rebecca Yarros broke my heart and then rebuilt it during the course of this story.

Camden and Willow's love for one another transcends anything that I have read about to date.

I'm sitting here now not knowing if I want to cry still. Everything about this book pulled at my emotions.

I cannot imagine having to go back to a small town where everyone blames you for everything that goes wrong, and can't see past the mistakes of your past. It took a strength that I don't think I would have to do that and deal with an ailing father who blames him also.

There was a twist that I wasn't expecting at the end of the story. For the most part I knew certain truths about Camden because you can tell right away that he would do anything for the people that he loves, but the rest was such a shock, but it made so much sense I don't know why I didn't see it coming.

I was so proud of Willow for standing by Cam when it had to be hard to do in this little town of judgmental people.

Best Murder in Show (Sophie Sayers Village Mysteries Book 1) by Debbie Young
Fits: blue cover
Pages: 218
Read: 10/13/2020
rating: 3 stars

This was ok but the murder mystery really felt like an afterthought. It's introduced as an accidental death in the beginning before you meet any of the characters. Then you go back before, meet all the villagers and watch Sophie get acquainted with her new home, get a job etc.., Then it's like the author had an "oh yeah this was supposed to be a murder mystery" revelation and all of a sudden the death was a murder and the least likeable person in the book is immediately nabbed as the killer. That said, my library has the books and I won't mind reading more if they fit a challenge.

14. Read a minimum of 1000 pages in books with Contemporary Romance as MPG.

Contemporary and Romance do not have to be combined, but both have to be MPG (Main Page Genre). If you are concerned with either dropping from MPG, either a very new book with few tags or either being down lower on the list, a screen shot might be advisable. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count!

I'm not a fan of Nalini Singh's contemporaries as much as her paranormal/urban fantasy. However, Rock Wedding is one of my favorites books of hers. Yes, it has its flaws, it can be super cheesy but jeez, I cry every time. This is the perfect example on how to do heroe's atonement and I can't help but fall in love with Abe and Sarah and their story.

Review: I was not expecting to be as emotionally invested in this story as I was. Virgin River is my dream community, but I didn't know Marcie or Ian until this book.

The thing is Marcie had me captivated from the beginning. She was a young woman who lost her husband tragically, and she was determined to find Ian who was her husbands best friend, Sergeant, and mentor.

No one, and I mean no one was able to dissuade her from her path. During this search she finds Virgin River which has been a savior for many a lost soul.

Marcie's determination and stubbornness is exactly what Ian needed to bring him out of the rut he chose for himself. That combined with the resident's of Virgin River.

These books are just as much about the town as it is about the people.

I really enjoyed this one. Although I think it falls more into chick-lit category than romance. Also the chapter opening "quotes" from teenage Tillie's journal got old about half-way through the book.

As a team select a month and year, each teammate reads a book initially published in that month/year. For this task, you will be using the initial publication date - if there is one on the editions page use that, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition.

Review: I'm so glad I waited until both books in this duet was out to get to this because I am salivating for the next book and I don't have to wait.

Someone is out to ruin Pike by any means necessary, and Mickey is right in the thick of it. Ms. Frazier had me on the edge of my seat with all the things that I don't know and was and still am dying to find out.

Then to get a taste of what's happening right before that ending and get another big wallop that I was not expecting in the least.

Bravo!!
