Laura | 2513 comments I updated the preferences for everyone in post 11, but I 'm going to bring forward the tasks again so we can clarify and confirm so that when a task is called and you see it you can start reading instead of waiting for someone to chime in. I 'm going by the majority of answers.

9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.
Which Nalini Singh series?

#27- read a minimum of 750 pages in books published prior to 2018. Team picks year
no preferences, Alicia picked 2017 does that work for everyone

this can be more specific such as a university setting
New York still works?

51. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task.
Megan agreed to the series tasks for Nalini Singh and Lisa Kleypas, Aiswrya said she would be open to trying Nadia Lee, Alicia are you okay if we went with Nadia Lee for this task?

52. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.

53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.

Megan | 1024 comments 9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.
My preference is the psy-changling series as I've started that but I'll try another I don't mind.

message 55: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 2044 comments 9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.
Which Nalini Singh series? - Guild hunter only because I have most of them. But, psy-changeling is also good. If there is a tie, then I pick guild hunter.

#27- read a minimum of 750 pages in books published prior to 2018. Team picks year
no preferences, Alicia picked 2017 does that work for everyone - Yes it works!

#29- read over 750 pages in books about the same profession
everyone had athlete as a choice, does that work? - Yes it does!

33. Read 6 books in the same sub-genre, teams decide.
everyone picked contemporary, does that work? - Yes it does!

47. Read 6 books set in a major city.
New York work for everyone? - Yes it does!

49. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide
December 2015? - Yes it works!

50. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location.
This task is similiar to #47, though no definitive answer, two mentions of New York
this can be more specific such as a university setting
New York still works? - It does

52. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
black - Yep!

53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
Canada, London, New York and Sacremento are our choices.
Do we want to go with London for a different option? - we would do England. Unless my memory is really off, Kat's rules during the previous round was within the US, we would consider the state and outside the US, the country would work. Even otherwise, London is an easy choice.

55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
Does England work? - Yes it works!

56. As a team, pick a list with over 100 romance books on it, each member reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
Does this list work for everyone?
Best Romance Books Ever - Yes it works!

58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate.
2020 or 2018 which do we prefer? - 2018 so we have a higher chance of finding it in a library (and fewer people trying to borrow it)

64. Read 6 books not set on a continent of a teammate. Space does not count - must be a real continent.
Australia work for everyone? - Yes it works!

72. Read 4 books published in the decade of a teammate's birth, team decides which teammate.
Laura: 70's
Aiswrya: 90's
Alicia: 60's
Megan: 90's

Will 90's work for everyone? - Yes it works! 60s and 70s would be very hard to find

73. Read a minimum of 1500 pages in books by the same author, teams decide author.
I like Megan's suggestion to try Catherine Bybee. Aiswrya and Alicia what do you say? - Yeah I like Catherine Bybee! And I haven't read the other series Megan mentioned, so I shall definitely try that.

75. Read over 1000 pages in books that start with the same letter (no articles), teams decide letter.
No preference, Megan suggested M..How about whoever sees the task first can pick and then we all find something that works (no x or q)
Does that work? - That works, I would also say no to z

79. Read 6 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.
boss, first responders, enemies to lovers
which works best for you all? - plenty of options in all of these. Boss would be my first pick

82. Each teammate reads a different book from the same series.
Which Lisa Kleypas series do we want to read?- I got wallflowers and hathaways mixed up. I didn't like wallflowers, so that's the one I don't want to read. Ravenels was great and I don't mind re-reading. Open to reading Hathaways since I haven't read it before (so this is my first choice)

88. Read 6 books with a boat, plane, car or motorcycle on the cover, teams decide which.
car or boat? ... I 'd prefer car. Preference, please? - car works for me. List that might help is here

90. Each member reads a book published in sequential months, i.e. June, July, August and September 2019. Teams decide which months. No pass for this task
Aiswrya: December
Megan: November
L & A no preference - - Will you guys pick one each between Sept and Oct?

93. As a team, pick a Romance List from GR Listopia with less than 100 books on it, each teammate reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
Best Romance Books 2000-2020 - Yes it works!

94. Read 6 books published in sequential years, teams decide years
2014-2020
Megan: 2019
Aiswrya - 2018

Who's excited to start? Megan are you staying up to see the first call or looking in the morning?

If first call is task 1 then I 'm going with book 3 of the series that Aiswrya is reading. Trying to Score (Hot Jocks, #3) by Kendall Ryan

message 61: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 2044 comments No problem!!

I’m so excited! I also have to finish my meal preps for the week today, so loads of listening time ☺️

message 72: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 2044 comments Task 1 for all teams!

0. As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month. No pass for this task.

For this task we are using the initial publication date. If one is listed at the top of the editions page, use that. Otherwise I will be looking for the first published date of an English language edition. Remember to use the first English language Kindle edition for your page count and ensure that your completion posts contain all the required information listed in message #3 of your team thread.

Pick a month Aiswrya and then we will all find something we like to read!!

Actually idk about KU in another country but from my KU only 6 are available as KU and only one of those is in English the others are Spanish and German... Thankfully I have Scribd which has quite a few on. Its really random what seems to be on there though so like book 2 of the series I mentioned is on there but book 1 is free on Kindle so thats fine. All very much a mess...

Thanks Laura, thankfully found a book from my TBR that fits!!

team choice: July 2019
Book: All It Takes (Romancing Manhattan, #2) by Kristen Proby
pages: 291 kindle edition (GR)
rating: 4 stars
read: Sept 14/20
qualifies: team picked July 2019 - book is published July 30, 2019 (see book page)
review: I 'm a fan of Kristen Proby and this book didn't disappoint. Sweet and sexy romance with a small unexpected twist at the end that added to the story. Reading the series out of order certainly didn't take away my enjoyment of this HEA.

team choice: July 2019
Book: Kale (Texas Kings MC, #1) by Cee Bowerman
Pages: 290
Rating: 3 stars
Read: 14th Sept
Works: Team has picked July 2019 - Book was initially published in 1st July 2019
Review: It was fine, I can't say I'll rush out and read the series, this just felt a) a lot longer than 290 pages and b) it just went on and on. I didn't love the heroine and the hero was fine just the description of 'hes a big man' just is a bit bland for me.

I can get Seduce Me at Sunrise- immediately
Then if this task isn't called next I can get Mine Till Midnight, Married By Morning and Love in the Afternoon hopefully Thursday or Friday. Which means I don't have access to book 3 and I don't mind reading a series out of order.

Aiswrya and Alicia does this Lisa Kleypas series work for you if Megan can access a book?

A few tasks like sequential years and months are missing a preference from Alicia and I - I will find something to fit so I don't feel like I need to claim anything right now.

-tasks that require 6 books, I found last round, rather than claim them ahead of time it worked really well for the first two teammates that finished their book to pick up a second (if they wanted)
