99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them
The Game Plan (Game On, #3) by Kristen Callihan
Pages: 323 kindle edition
Read: Oct 25
Rating: 4 stars
Qualifies: one of Alicia's five favorites (bottom of post 11)
Review: I have read some of this series, out of order, but this might be my favorite. I liked Fi and Dex, their relationship and how they both grow as characters. Side bonus... getting to read about Grey and Ivy again as well as reading the calendar scene from a different perspective. Steamy read with a HEA. Now I need to go back and read the books I missed from this series.

Laura | 2513 comments Let's chat about this task that has come up for other teams.
84. Pick a category from the current RRRC Monthly Challenge and read 6 books for that category. Reader's Choice is exempt from this task

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Or
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Any preferences?
I think #5 or 9 would be the easiest for October and #3, 4 or 5 would be the easiest for November

Edit- task 71. . Pick another team and each member reads one book that was read by a member for this challenge. No pass for this task.
Which team would you both prefer?
Trying to stay away from the m/m readers since Megan and I both prefer not to read that genre.
Team 17 has books posted similar to some of what we read

Megan | 1024 comments For October my picks would be 3, 5, maybe 9. Hey 10 looks easy hehe

For November my picks would be 2, 4, 8 & 9
8 would be easy cause I think we all like sport romance so that would be ok... 2 sounds OK if you like paranormal.. I haven't read any of that author so I'd need to check how easy it is to get her books. I'll have a look tomorrow!

I'll have a look through teams tomorrow. Just off to bed now (clocks have gone back or forward idk but I'm tired)
Yeah anything but M/M romances at the moment. Got to be in the mood for those.

99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover Heart Bones
Read: 10/24
Pages: 338/GR
Rating: 4 Stars
Qualifies: One of Laura's 5 favorites Bottom of post 11
Review: This was a heartbreaker, as only Colleen Hoover can write them. It's funny because I usually shy away from her books because they are so sad, but this one worked. I felt total empathy for Beyah, and admired her grit and determination to make something different out of her life. And I could really identify with her feelings about her dad, it really hit me. I did think in the beginning that the author went on a little bit much about how awful her home life was with her mom, it felt like she kept reiterating it over and over. But man, the rest of the story really got me. The way things went down with Samson, how they dealt with it, it was great. I'm so glad I picked this one!

Wrong Number, Right Guy (The Bourbon Street Boys, #1) by Elle Casey Wrong Number, Right Guy
Read: 10/25
Pages: 353/GR
Rating: 4 Stars
Qualifies: One of Megan's 5 favorites Bottom of post 11
Review: This was a perfect book to read after my first one, it was a complete 180 and had me cracking up out loud pretty much from the very beginning. I loved those ridiculous texts between Ozzie and May in the beginning, they were hilarious. And the fun didn't stop. May turned out to be a total badass, and I loved how she handled the guys at the security firm. She and Ozzie were great together too. I'm definitely going to be looking to read the rest of the books in this series.

AliciaJ | 1868 comments Task 84. Pick a category from the current RRRC Monthly Challenge and read 6 books for that category. Reader's Choice is exempt from this task

I agree, for October I would pick #3, #5 or #9. I really liked the Meghan March book I read for that category this month and I do plan to read the next books in the Beneath series, so that would work.

For November, I like #2, #4, #5, #8, and #9. LOL, I guess I'm really looking forward to this one next month! 😊

I'm looking through the teams right now. I'd actually like to see if we could find one that has a mix of genres, not just contemporary romance. Some mm, some mystery, romance, etc. The trick is going to be finding one that has completed enough tasks to give us a good amount of choices to choose from.

Yes, I don't mind team 12 either, I see some books on their list that I wouldn't mind reading. Megan, will team 12 work for you? (task 71. Pick another team and each member reads one book that was read by a member for this challenge. No pass for this task.)

84. Pick a category from the current RRRC Monthly Challenge and read 6 books for that category. Reader's Choice is exempt from this task
- we all picked 5 , is everyone okay if we choose #5 if we get this task in October?
For November do we want to pick #2 because it has this option (OR a book that just makes you happy.)

Also what about this new task: 105. Each teammate lists two favorite authors. Select books written by the authors on two different teammate's list and read books by those authors. (Two books each per teammate.) No pass for this task

message 518: by AliciaJ (new)

AliciaJ | 1868 comments #5 for October and #2 for November work for me. On task 105, we just each need to list two of our favorite authors, then we each pick one book from each of the other teammates lists, is this right?

I thought we all already listed favorite authors, was that for a different task?

Anyway, my two favorites are going to be Nalini Singh and Elle Kennedy.

Laura | 2513 comments AliciaJ wrote: "#5 for October and #2 for November work for me. On task 105, we just each need to list two of our favorite authors, then we each pick one book from each of the other teammates lists, is this right?..."

Yes, exactly. Similiar tasks, but then slightly different. I like #105 a little more as it gives the reader more options.

Great choices, Alicia! I'm going to have to flip a coin if we get that task. Did you deliberate? I'm having a hard time narrowing down to just two favorite authors- I have so many.
Marie Force and K.A. Tucker are my two choices.

Megan | 1024 comments Team 12 is fine with me.

October I'm fine with 5. October 2nd is World Smile Day. 🎃Read a book that you know will make you smile or you know will make you happy. You can also read a book that has a person smiling on the cover, or read a book that has a title that starts with S, M, I, L, or E. Don't forget to smile today! :)

November I'm good with 2 - I think that should be fairlyyyy easy

Ilsa Madden-Mills & Kim Law

Edit: changed my mind.

MountainKat | 31598 comments Here is Task 22:

94. Read 6 5 books published in sequential years, teams decide years.

For this task use the initial publication date. If there is one listed on the editions page use it, otherwise the qualifier would be the earliest dated English language edition. Select 5 books initially published in sequential years, without skipping years. For example you could use 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 but not 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. Include the publication date/year in your completion posts.

message 525: by Megan (new)

message 526: by Laura (new)

Let's see if we can get another since we aren't supposed to repeat tasks. I'll ask in the q &a thread

message 527: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31598 comments Sorry about that, I checked, but my eyes just skipped right over that you already had that task. I'll post a new one!

message 528: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31598 comments Let's try this again...

Here is the REAL Task 22:

109. Read 6 5 books with or without facial hair on a male cover model. Teams decide.

As a team decide whether you are reading books with facial hair on the cover or without facial hair and then read 5 books that fit your selection. Obvious scruff or 5 o'clock shadow will count as facial hair. You can use any edition's cover to qualify for this task, please include the qualifying cover in your completion post.

message 529: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2513 comments Thanks Kat! It's a lot of updating and keeping track on your end so it's very much appreciated. More fun to find a book for a task we didn't do since there are so many great ones left!

message 530: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2513 comments Cute task! Do we want scruff (facial hair) or not? Either works for me.

message 531: by AliciaJ (new)

Pages: 302
Rating: 4 stars
Qualifies: Look at this beautiful male model. Gunner (Satan's Fury- Memphis #5) by L. Wilder
Review: This was pretty good.
I got a little lost at the start, the whole kidnapping thing felt a little rushed and could have been done better but the romance between Gunner and August was nice in the end and I liked Harper herself too, I think she was the right age character and not too old for her age as can happen with toddler characters.

When Angels Seek Chaos When Angels Seek Chaos (Depalma Family, #1) by Addison Jane
Read: 27th October
Pages: 305
Rating: 3 stars
Qualifies: Male model has facial hair
Review: This was interesting. I wouldn't say I'd read this again I'd probably prefer to never touch this book again but it was an interesting story...
This is a dark book and I always feel weird reading this sort of book especially when the dark is involved in the mafia just makes me uneasy but the romance itself was fine. The writing itself was OK but the edit of this book was weird making my eyes hurt going from light text to dark text, needs a better editor. The characters were interesting. Angelo was hard and mean but he was also human at times and I think his character would be good to have on the side of you.

You would only have to re read one page to remember!
( I think its because we read so many books that we don't always remember)

Elizabeth 's husband died in car accident. Tristan's wife and son died in a car accident. Both are grieving and lost. Tristan is angry, no one likes him. He runs in his bare feet all the time. Elizabeth and her daughter move back to their home and while driving back hit Tristan's dog ( that's how they meet) It's angsty, sad, a hot mess, hopeful, disappointing ... jeez no wonder I feel like an emotional wreck today.
Plot twist - the messed up guy friend tampered with Liz's husband 's car causing the accident which killed both spouses and the son. Emma, the daughter calls Tristan - Tick .

Does that bring back any memories?

Well crap, I don't think notifications are working again. Grrr
