This was a reread and I still loved as much the second time and I did the first which is a rare occurrence for me. Jed's stubborn macho crap and Max's vulnerability just slayed me. It felt like every day was just about survival for them and to find each other when they're both damaged was just perfect. Is life going to be easy for them? Oh, hell no but we get the feeling that they can deal with it and that's all that matters. Loved meeting Jed's military buddies and hoping we'll get their stories soon.

I've gotta give this one all the stars because it just did it for me. Made me laugh, made my tear up a few times and was just the sweetest. Cooper and Nine (Isaac) thrown together for a summer of home renovations and social media, what could go wrong? Gah, I just wanted to wrap Isaac up in a big ole lumberjack sized blanket and give him a good cuddle. I mean if Cooper was a chicken he would put him in his closet....Loved!!!

I shouldn't have waited so long in between books because I'm sure not remembering all the characters took away some of my enjoyment of this story. I remembered Nana, of course. Also, this one was heavier than some of the previous books which I wasn't expecting or looking for. Still a great read but not what I was in the mood for but that's just me. If you're looking for one of these stories with a bit more teeth, this is it.

I don't know why I didn't read this right when I finished the first one seeing as these two played such a big part of book one. Anders is the twin of Law and Brody is Reed's ex, now friend. Talk about intertwined. I may have liked this one a bit more than the first as we got the whole story from Ander's point of view. The angst and struggle was there but kept at a level that bring me down in any way. Just part of their love story. Loved it!!

This was a reread for me and I was hoping to get to book 2 but didn't get the chance before time ran out. I'm going to read it now because I am enjoying this maybe more than I did the first go around. Their dynamic is really something considering the sexing is almost non existent. Love the big bad bodyguard and the weaker, kind of sick chef. They just work for me. Moving on now!!

Review: Holy cow, I almost forgot to rate/review this one and that would have sucked since it was a challenge book!

Anyways, OMG this was SO MUCH BETTER than Book 1. First of all, yay for getting a narrator that could do the right accents. Joel Leslie, once again, delivers a stellar performance in his performance of Perry. Just the right level of panic and perturbed. Perry is high-maintenace, very used to the comforts of London...so being "exiled" to the Western Isles was quite a shock. He learned to deal with it, but by putting his own touch on the more rustic aspects of the setting.

Greg is how I imagine the what if were there another sibling that would say "fuck off" to the rest of the K's and their reality show. He's perfectly happy with his life, with his choices. He deserves a Perry to spice it up a little, though.

Wonderful descriptions of the setting; I could almost feel the damp and smell the sheep. Again, so much better than book 1 IMHO.

I am loving the start of this new series! Mason is just the sweetest, cutest etc and Nash is the epitome of stoic, stubborn, in-the-closet cop. Yes, Nash could be a bit of an ass sometimes and it was frustrating that he was being held back by the ghost of his father but nothing ott or cruel. His mother pissed me off to the very end. What a bitch! Mason's family is...the only word I can think of is gross. They are gross. Basically a very sweet read with some hot sex leaving lots of room for more stories in this little town. Can't wait!

Since I had to use the 1st Kindle edition for my challenge, I'm going to go ahead and re-rate this one as 3.5 rather than 4 stars and .25 of it was due to John Solo's narration.

I appreciated that there was little by way of actual detail when it came to the baking and whatnot. I'm not fond of the "chef" trope solely because so many of the books I've read have been filled with the minutia of cooking. There was some mention of the tasks, but nothing overly specific.

What I don't remember from my first read was having to suspend disbelief so much. Especially the part about how Liam just happened to be near Joe's bakery.

But it was just as tooth-ache inducing this time around. So sweet...and yet also hot.

Loved this, and really love the concept and plot line. I did feel though that there was a LOT of wallowing around by our MC Israel ~ for all that he had a crappy set of circumstances, so its hard to really judge. MC Sam is great - such a great friend throughout Israel life!

Narrated by Joel Leslie - does a much better set of Aussie accents than earlier NRW books :)

Review: Damn, what a ride!

Once again we have that fade out scene from the previous book opening this one, and it was HOT! And yet...also very romantic. I love how these 3 guys love each other. So much acceptance, so much love and dedication. ADORE that there was even more communication and discussions of consent.

Didn't anticipate who they'd end up teaming up with, and Tan's brother deserved that verbal bitch-slap/rude awakening. Thankfully he learned his lesson.

I almost wish that the precis didn't mention the HEA because that took away some of the suspense. I think I would have rather not known...it's a freaking alien invasion of a dystopian earth. The fear of loss was less urgent.

That said, I am definitely going to listen to the whole series when I need a re-read and these fit the challenges

Review: Re-Re-Read 08Nov2020:

I mentioned in another review of a post-apocalyptic/dystopian book that it was less gritty and raunchy than I was expecting given the genre. So...I felt like I needed to rectify this by re-reading one that I KNEW was dirtybadwrongdelicious. Also, why are there not more Fuck-or-Die tropes? I need those in my life like woah.

Even more appreciation for the world-building and attention to detail. (I seem to have developed a fascination for survivalist skills.) And why is there always a stupid religious cult involved when things go to shit?

Once again, I'm questioning my kinks because those more public sex scenes were hotter than I remember. Also, the multiple partner thing. Gah, so hot. SO HOT! I don't think I'd have even been mad had Darius and Rhys not ended up together. Rhys could have just stayed their fuck-toy and I'd have been fine with it.

Please, Amelia, consider having these made into audios?

HAHAHA!!! Yep. It's a good thing he never put up one of those flags or banners or else I'd have filmed him taking it down, layered it with TAPS and then posted it on Tiktok. I don't think he's gonna let this go until Jan 20th. Maybe not even then. Good thing Kid graduates in May. I may need to yeet myself out of here.

(He wouldn't let me put up Bernie signs back before the Primary so I told him it was only fair that he couldn't either. LOL, only he didn't know that I have a magnetic Bernie bumper sticker and would slap it on before I drove anywhere by myself.)

OMG, you should hear the conspiracy theories he's ranting about. I'm like, if we were going to steal it don't you think we'd have done it for the Senate in a landslide, too? Ossoff isn't likely to win that runoff in GA...I mean, I'm hoping for it, but people who voted for the 3rd candidate are more likely to vote for that other person.

Unlesssss...there's a lot of Gen Z in GA who will turn 18 before the January registration date. And hopefully those who vote blue will be fired up to show up. In 2016, Clark county got flipped to Bernie because we showed up more. (County convention...don't get me started on that state convention. I am, and will forever be, still salty.)
