Music Video for The Thing I Didn't Know I Didn't Know

So last night I finally got my first look at the video for the song Brett Every wrote for The Thing I Didn't Know I Didn't Know. I was supposed to be there for the filming of the video, but couldn't because of a family emergency. So I had no idea what to expect. Knowing how much time and money Brent and Jeremy (the director) poured into it, I really wanted to like it.

And I did! I really did! It's beautifully shot, featuring two really sweet guys going out on a first date and highlighting Seattle without being cliche about it. And the images go really nicely with Brett's lovely song.

The video should be out in a week or two and I think folks will really like it!

Thanks, Michael! Jeremy did a terrific job -- or, rather, is still *doing* a terrific job, since he's still putting the final touches on the editing.

If people are curious, here's the story of the video. Months and months ago, I partnered with my New York musician friend Brett Every, who wrote a song based on Russel and the new book. And then I produced the music video myself, which is basically the story of Russel and Felicks out on their date (chapter eight in the book). I hired a director (Jeremy), and then he and I hired a cinematographer, auditioned actors, and then finally shot it all down on the Seattle waterfront.

I'm excited to (finally) have people see it! It was originally going to be released the day the book was released last month, but then I decided that it would get lost in the Christmas rush.

But now it's finally ready. Next week! More soon.
