I got about 3000 more done the last two days with some sprints with writing buddies. Brain a bit fried.

I finally finished my novella at 40K. Want to revise by the end of summer.
Now working on my first attempt at a contemporary IR for a call for shorts @20K.

Thanks for the tip, Ines! :) I need to work out my summer writing schedule a bit more. I'm taking a lot of vacation days this year, so I hope I will get a lot done.

I'll share more when I have a better outline! Contemporary is hard for me in many ways because I don't have the barrier of the fantastic to hide behind & I find it more emotionally wrenching.

Give it the time it needs. :) I am trying to sort out a few things. Need to finish these last few chapters of Maybe Tomorrow and then send it to the editor. I don't know why this book is taking so long.

Still here, Echo. :) I have been on vacation and had spotty WiFi access. I spent a week on the island of Mallorca off the coast of Spain, writing and relaxing. Then I returned to Stockholm for three days and then headed to Matera, Italy for brainstorming with some fabulous writers. Now I am back in Stockholm, trying to finish some tiny bits of my WIP and starting a new WIP.
Plus, the paperback version of Maybe Forever was released this week, so I am a happy camper! :D
We've been bad at cheering. :) Let's reboot!

So how has our writing gone so far during the summer + autumn? What are our goals for the rest of 2015?

I relocated recently to a new state. Started a new job, and all that comes with that etc, so my writing has been put on the back burner. That said, my goals for the rest of the year is to complete Nanowrimo 2015, and to learn to use Scrivener in the hopes that I'll be more organized. Carrying around several composition notebooks with ideas and writing is giving me anxiety.

I think you will like Scrivener. I always use it when I am writing and it helps a lot. I think the reason my current WIP is taking so long is that it is the one project I haven't written in Scrivener and it feels all over the place.
Where dd you move to?? How's the new job coming along?

I'm new here and just wanted to stop in an show support. Keep banging out those words anytime of day! Because I have a family I mainly work in the middle of the night. The weekends is for catching up on sleep kind of lol. Sometimes I'm writing stuff and feel I just can't stop have to get entire scene complete.

The weekends is for catching ..."Hi, Shantée! I know what you mean about having to snatch hours to write. I still work 9-to-5, so I have to try to grab any free hours that I can to write. Which is usually while I am eating breakfast before I head to work and when I come home from work. I don't have any kids, but I still have to give my hubby some quality time. Usually I get most of my writing done at the weekend.

Welcome Shantee! Thanks for re-booting us Kim and good to hear from you Michelle. As per writing, I did win a pitch contest for a fantasy novel (haven't heard back about the submission yet). Writing an SF novel that's in fits and starts but still hanging in there. Wrote a vampire story, but not sure what to do with it.
You can always use Wattpad, Echo, to get your stories out there and build your readership. :) (Though I say this and I am really bad at remembering to post on Wattpad.)
How are we doing today, chicas? Any good news? Are we all set for NaNoWriMo starting soon?

Last year, I didn't make the 50K but I did about 30K and I think having encouragement really helped.

Thank you!I'm currently taking a Gotham workshop in writing romance and it has been very helpful. I was diagnosed with a chronic illness about a year ago and realized that now is the time to pursue my dream to be a fiction writer. I started reading every thing that interested me in various romance genres. I did start a book, got about 30K words in earlier this year, but it really felt aimless. So I started reading books about writing as well as fiction.
The Gotham class has been great! I have been able to work out some problems with the characters and the story structure and I feel like I'm on the right track. I also invested in Scrivener. Between this weekend and next, I want to get my story cut and pasted into Scrivener and the scenes in order. I don't generally have trouble getting words on paper when I can find the time, I've just been in the corporate world long enough to want to avoid working on something that seems aimless.
Erin, I always thought about taking a Gotham workshop, but never got around to it. Now you make me curious about trying one! :) I'm glad you decided to pursue your dream rather than putting it off! I think, too often, we put off what we really want to do because we are trying to be practical or sensible. I stopped writing for a while and focused only on teaching because I thought writing was simply a hobby, but I never felt happy. When I began writing again, the joy seemed to return to my life.
I managed to get some time to myself today and finished transferring the bits and pieces that make sense for this story. According to Scrivener, I have 35,000 words, and I have some scenes roughed in. I'm going to try to write a couple thousand words before my family comes home and I start getting interrupted.

The android is getting more and more interesting. :) I was surprised I managed to write today--I woke up with a sinus headache that made me feel like my head was the size of a pumpkin.
Just discovered this post. I did NaNoWriMo two years ago and actually finished. That is now in a series of rewrites. I got 40k words last year before I got sick. So that's 2 WIP to finish. Looking forward to this year. I have done a lot of reading on writing this year and have a better handle on what I will write and on developing my characters. I would love to try Scrivener, but it doesn't work on computers with Linux operating systems.
